I feel retarded.

After all these years and I just found out now that I can plug an ether net cable from my Xbox360 directly to my PC and connect to the internet. Fuck this shit!

Why did it take you so long to try it?I have no idea. The thought of it never occurred to me before.

I feel weird. Mine just plugs into the wall jack. Each room has one that connects from the bridge where my modem is.

I think I wouldn't do this, because my internet and my computer... are both fucking terrible.

Too bad you still need to pay for internet on the ecksbawks. You need to pay for it on both (xbox one and ps4 that is, not 360 and ps3, unless you want the luxuries)
Ot: I am very surprised it took you this long. I've had mine set up since I moved, even before then. Was a bit of a pain to set up initially, but since then, it's worked fine.
Thankfully my xbone has wifi, so I don't need to do it with that.
If I was to go poe, I'd need a switch for all three things, which would be a bit costly, sadly. But, it's an option nonetheless for faster and more stable net

Also wired connection is better for gayming.Less latency.

Too bad you still need to pay for internet on the ecksbawks.Yes... It is good that I moved to Steam. However knowing about the connection thing would have been helpful before.
Seriously though, Who would want to pay for XBgold/PSN+ when steam exists?

Some of the new PSN monthly freebies are worth it. I think a better model would have free standard access and a premium for the monthly freebies, better/priority connection, better customer assistance and stuff like crackle and live streaming.

You are probably right. I never cared about these things thus I didn't consider them.
However, In my opinion, The monthly free games you get are not really worth it. Because well, If you were not interested in the games before or did not buy it, Will having them be free for a month be a seller for you?
For me it is not. If I didn't care about it before, I most certainly wont later.

True. Although I get 50-60ping regardless as far as I'm aware. We're using wireless internet anyway (fixed wireless), so it probably wouldn't change too much anyway.
But, will look into poe and a switch anyway, been meaning to for ages

Wired in general is always better. Not sure if this is true for more expensive routers but WiFi in general runs at half-duplex, i.e. one-way radio talk vs wired connections which can run at full-duplex (2-way/simultaneous).
