I can't read the article but I know that Iran sucks. Not to offend any Iranians here since it's almost entirely Ahmadinejad's fault that the country is so backwards and well hated by the West.

I don't hate the middle east, it's not their fault for how they are. If you were raised that way you wouldn't know any better. A lot of those people are brainwashed with things about the West.

Though I believe the whole.."We'll wipe the jews off the face of the map" comment and the general "Nuclear Weapons" scare is probably a bigger factor for our dislike of Iran. This just makes them look like the spoiled kid who changes the rules of the game when he is losing.

People fear what is different and unknown. To people in the middle east, Western culture is foreign, therefore giving them a reason to fear and hate westerners. If they're able to learn about that culture, they would realize that all of us are human, all of us are the same in many things we do; there would be no more reason to hate and fear. If that happens, a government that thrives on anti-Western culture would begin to lose power.

Most Middle Eastern countries aren't very friendly with Israel (if they weren't backed by America they might not exist anymore) but Ahmadinejad is one of the more vocal people in the whole "Israel is a rotting corpse" and "Lets turn them into an irradiated crater" statements/movement. And to be fair, Israel [size=10]allegedly[/h] has nukes so they're kind of stirring the pot a bit.

Plus, if all you ever saw of Americans were marines, wouldn't you be scared of us too? ;)
