IMPORTANT KICKSTARTER EROGE NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!
1
Hi guys, (TO THE MODS: Please make an exception and let this post remain in this hightraffic part of the forum - consider it a christmas present ^_^)
there is a Visual Novel (Eroge) Libra of the Vampire Princesson kickstarter which needs your support. For at least 35 $ you can get a steam key on release. you can pledge and support less than 35 $ of course as well. Only 22 days until the funding deadline must be made and 50% already funded if the funding is not successful there will be no second chance. The funding goes a bit slow because of the holidays so your backing would be appreciated. An Hentai Restoration Patch will be made available at release which you can add to the Steamgame for adult content. Japanese Visual Novel makers want to expand to the west directly and are testing kickstarter to see if the western market is ready for direct approach. Show them your support and that we want to have localised uncensored visual novels. ^_^

This is actually a good idea, but... I just don't see myself supporting this game. Mostly because, all my money went out the window for Christmas anyway.
Money is going to be a limiting factor for a lot of people, and many people who are in similar situations as I am don't like crowdfunding, because it's incredibly hard to get your money's worth on literally. fucking. anything.
The disappointment of many failed kickstarter projects has led me to be incredibly wary of anything that even needs a kickstarter.
Also, it should be noted that a lot of westerners (especially here in the USA) have problems with loli-type characters, regardless of actual age, and that is a factor against any game they are present in. Don't blame the game, blame our stupid societies.

It's actually pretty cool and I saw it before. Would totally play it. Unfortunately I don't have spare bucks for it right now.

Seems alright. Bloody long though. Not sure I have the patience for that. But still, sounds cool.
As long as the steam version comes with an uncensoring patch, I'm g.
Might back if I can afford it later

It will have an inofficial decensor patch on release. vndb.org under the game entry listed as well. Please spread the word if you can let the japanese know we want more of their stuff officially brought to the west ^_^ If someone wants to support it you can pledge even at least 1 $ but cd keys start at 35 $. The Crowdfunding deadline is approximately 21 days. If by then you didnt pledge and the campaign fails its over and you will not have the possibility to change your mind :) Funds will only be charged on your bill if the full funding goal will be reached so there is no risk if you pledge for example 35$ that you lose your money if the funding goal of 125.000$ isnt reached.

Like said previously before me, I would try to back this up, only after the holidays since most of us are broke right now.
Otherwise, looks like a good game to me. I'd get it.

I roll my eyes every time I see people shilling for kickstarters. I've seen to many poorly handled ones that don't ask for enough of the games creation (oh yeah, let's make a huge game with less than a 1million dollars, totally sane!), poorly managed (Shenmune 3, Broken Age), or plain scummy (Mighty number 9 and Red Ash). And although I haven't seen any one do this with games, people have straight up run away with the crowdsourced money, and they had no legal obligations to churn out a product.
Good luck with your game, but crowdsourcing in general has been abused to hell and back.

Huniepop. I'll just copypaste what TVTropes wrote.
>They also thought of everything when they made the "censored" version for Steam. It turns out, that the censored version's code is not altered in any way. The game simply checks for the presence of a certain file in the directory the executable was in. The contents of the file don't matter, only the name - it can be zero bytes. If the file is present, then the uncensored version runs, even if you bought it on Steam. The obvious intent was for Steam to have an censored version so Valve wouldn't complain, but anyone that is even remotely internet savvy and has access to Google can un-censor their copy in about two seconds.
