I would have thought i would have assumed, but my introduction to it was from anime to begin with and once that happened I gave no connection to it being an english term what-so-ever.

I never really thought about it since it's a word used over here in the UK, didn't know it was used anywhere else apart from animu.

I assumed it was from animu and whatever and was gonna tell someone, but then fact checked myself before I did and learned it was actually from Britain, yeah. Interesting to find out.
