They are both epic. Watch them, you won't regret it. Japan have gotten some of it's best movies from Akira.

The only things in Japanese I have seen is Battle Royale, Battle Royale 2 (horrible compared to the first), and currently only anime.

I've heard of 7 Samurai and I've heard it was good. I'll make sure to check out 7S. Yojimbo seems to have an interesting plot. Yojimbo is a maybe depending on my free time.

Trivia: Almost all Akira's movies have been remade into westerns movies. Including Seven Samurai (The Magnificent Seven) and Yojimbo(A Fistful Of Dollars).

A fistful of dollars is really good. It's from Sergio Leone (most famous for making The Good, The Bad and The Ugly and the spaghetti western genre)
Haven't watched The Magnificent Seven yet. It's basically the same movie but in another language, different actors and time period/location.
