Soul x Maka Shrine (Updated!)

Updated: If you haven't yet noticed, I'm a fan of the Soul and Maka pairing, from the manga/anime series Soul Eater. I hope you are too, because several outstanding Soul x Maka doujins have been released recently. If not, try reading a bit of the manga or watch the anime. Anyway, this thread will contain many relevant links and images.

Intro: Maka is a headstrong, upbeat protagonist, who also has a caring side (and just a hint of insanity!). She also wields a mean scythe. Soul, on the other hand, projects a cool demeanour that conceals a fierce loyalty to his partner, and I have it on good fangirl authority that he is a charming gent.

Two amazing artists have come to my attention: Miya Katsura and Niwa-Tori. Both have done several doujinshi on this pairing alone. The doujinshi are generally short, romantic stories. Only two of them so far have H, and even then it's tastefully done softcore. The focus is on Soul and Maka's relationship, which is depicted with simple, clean art. Go in with the right expectations: they read more like well-written fanfics than explicit H doujins.

Miya Katsura: Otherwise known as KISS. She has done quite a few doujinshi, two of which has some H (S and My Master). She depicts their passion and intimacy extraordinarily well. And as you can see below, her coloured work is even more outstanding. Found here on Fakku.

Niwa-Tori: Two doujinshi thus far. Again, has a strong focus on the story. They look so cute together! :) Found here on Fakku.

Doujinshi: Mikk1o5 is posting the raw scans on LiveJournal. Click that if you'd rather grab them untranslated first. Several translations are underway - NaeDi is in the midst of translating S and M and posting it here. D-Angel is doing text-only translation and posting it on LiveJournal so if you feel inclined you can look up the dialogue page by page while reading the unedited doujins. Eternalight is using those translations and editing it into scanlation releases, posting it on WordPress - two of which have been recently posted here on Fakku by Jacob (who has impeccable taste :D).

On a side note, I find myself to be drawn to more romantic doujins than ecchi ones recently, anyone else feel the same?

If you can find the doujins for download, that'd be awesome.

Though I don't watch much Soul Eater, the two do make a great couple and the drawings seem to be drawn well to display the two's intimacy.

Don't think so... if you look at the source picture of my avatar, you'll see the artist's website which is different from Miya's. Also, their colouring styles are slightly different. Both of them are flippin' awesome though :D

@Akanova: you're right, the art and coloring styles are different... but damn they do a fine job of drawing Maka x Soul.

i don't really like maka, but i like soul a lot and all in for maka x soul...


but more importantly, the mid-top pic...do you have a bigger res of it? cuz i'm kinda itching to make it my wallpaper...

Not much of a fan of either character alone. They do make a good couple though. =D

props on the thread bub, soul eater doesn't get enough appreciation as it is let alone its romance between meister and weapon. i'm not excluding that to maka and soul alone either, although there isn't as much tension between them i feel some connection with black star and tsubaki as well. death and his two... can have a threesome or something, it does justice to his title haha. its one of the better series in recent memory and unless it really ain't your cup of tea i can tell you this: maka is plum fucking adorable when she smiles. rep+ akanova, i think we'll get along just fine :3
