I think he just wanted to garner more attention to the game in response to his other videos claiming he was worried about people losing interest if he took too long with updates.

Then he goes on to express his concerns about converting the entire game to a more up-to-date version of Unity, and hiring a programmer who knows what they're doing who would no doubt want to re-write the entire thing. Whole process would likely take a few months. It's an interesting watch.
