Comedy Conan, I know. But it got me curious still if it works. I know that you can train your muscles like this to strengthen your endurance (albeit, in a less-brutal way, using a stick or something and hitting with less power), but is it as effective as if you're doing sit-ups??
Like, can you get abs (not 6-packs. just toned abs) with this?

Not related, but I used to do regular push-ups (Regular, wide, "clapping", "form-a-triangle-with-your-hands", knuckles), sit-ups and squats. Just recently started doing so again, fat and all that
Well when I was in boxing class we used to hold our arms above our heads and have our sparring partner do a round of medium strength punches to the abdomen it did yield results. As far as being better than sit-ups however I'd like to say yes but I have no concrete evidence.
As for your push ups, make a game out of it....Like every time a commercial comes on or something like that. I did that for about a month and got good results.
