I've been around these forums for quite a while now, just never really had anything to share until today. This is my first piece, acrylic on canvas, and I think it came out quite well.
Let me know what you think, I'm looking for some unbiased feedback, so any comments would be appreciated.

The characters are drawn well, the background could be a bit smoother. Unexpectedly, this seems like a rather good choice of colors. Don't really have anything else to say..

For my first try, this was about as complex as I felt comfortable attempting.
Actually, the uneven fade in the background was intentional. Just something to bring a little more texture and to contrast the smooth fade of the characters.
I already have an idea for my next try. 元気 (genki) A little more complicated, and I might try a smooth fade in the background just to see how it looks. And Thanks for taking a look, any criticism - good or bad - is always helpful.
