Am I a hypocrite?

So I use fakku as my main for of pornography, but if the conversation ever comes up (guys will be guys) and Hentai is mentioned I deny ever using this media, am i a hypocrite for this? Should i be defending Hentai?

Hentai and it's vewiers are looked down upun and may be ridiculed by many people, and their point of veiw is easy to see. Tentacles, 'nuff said. A guess would be that the majority of people in to porn refute hentai, the majority of those that do, do so out of ignorence and steriotypical shit associated with hentai. Many of the people I hang out with are fans of hentai so it isn't usually an issue. When the subject comes up and the majority of people are ridiculing it, I shut up. It's not something that is easy to defend and it's not worth the hassle. I don't see the point in defending it from people that won't give it a chance really.

Hypocricy is something else. If you say to your hentai loving friends "Hentai is amazing, I love that shit!" then turn to another group and say "Fuck hentai! That shit is totally fucked up.". Then you're a hypocrite.

Street Saint said just about everything I would've in a more detailed post. However, I would add that if you promoted hentai some of the time, yet said negative things about it when it gets mentioned elsewhere then yes, you would be one.

I'm guessing he means IRL, because come on, this is a hentai forum. Why would we have any reason to lie to people who enjoy the same things as us?

Just to make sure,but someone can still get embarrassed talking about certain events in this site despite certain physical barriers that separate the users. Very well, assuming that what you claim is true sir/madam I believe that he could be a hypocrite in that specific situation: but only as a defence mechanism. You see, if people labelled something as a stigma then the majority are expected to follow the norms that would discriminate against this specific stigmatized object. And anything that approves of this stigmatized object is labelled negatively by the "in-group". In his case, denying the use of hentai which is a stigmatized object by his "in-group" could be hypocrisy but only to defend his "stigmatized" yet tolerable behaviour. So the young sir who felt like a hypocrite, it's okay: defending yourself at times like that is only natural. Don't feel melancholic, maintaining a good status between multiple groups is hard, that's why there are evolutionarily passed defence mechanisms to aid you.

Maybe you think the people you are talking to would think badly of you for being into hentai? I dont know.

Everyone is a hypocrite in some way shape or form. It's in our nature.

I wouldn't say denying watching Hentai would be a sign of hypocrisy. I think what would be a sign of that would be to, for example, criticize someone for looking at it while you also enjoy it secretly.

I agree with the comment above mine though. It's so annoying when people say things like "I hate fake people" when, at the end of the day, everyone is fake, hypocrite, you name it.

No, you're just lying to avoid any unnecessary disputes that may arise if they questioned your interests. You're not bashing hentai so it doesn't make you a hypocrite.

You aren't obligated to tell someone you watch Hentai if you're embarrassed by it.
