so i just finished my standard exams and i'm gonna start my college course
but my results are average, not advanced enough for me to choose any courses specifically, but i've always loved cooking and food, altho i'm just average at it
and now i'm still wondering should I continue with my studies ,or straight away start working off in the kitchen[i have a friend who's been offering me to be a trainee cook in a hotel]
and now im lingering between these two choices, study and get a cert[to guarantee i can get a basic office job at the very least so i won't need to worry about finding a job] ------ or follow my dreams and start working at the kitchen and learn something off from the chefs, can anyone give me some advise?

take the job! TAKE THE JOB, MAN!!
A lesson I habe learned is that it's not worthy to got stuck in a job that you don't like even when the pay it's nice, better to be in your dream job with a so-so salary than a job that you'll eventually hate and win a bit more money (yeah and healt care and all that shit but I assume you are not marriedor supporting anyone)

Follow your dreams, it's pointless actually persuing anything you don't want to do, have you considered going to culinary school? From what Ive heard although its intensive and requires extensive work, grade requirements and prerequisites aren't as determinary as character and determination.and as it is your dream, it's not only a great investment but a cheaper one at that then wasting your money to get a degree that does not assure you a stable job or one that you enjoy.

Either take the job or go and study in a culinary school. It doesn't matter if you're not that good in cooking, as long as you have passion for it. Culinary arts is more about passion and understanding anyway. There's a bit of science and maths, but it's basic. For example, what kind of amino acids are contain in these food, different kinds of meat cuts, fat content, etc. lol.
But as long as you are eager to learn and work hard for it, it's a piece of cake.
