Anybody know the movie/ show?

So, looks like requests is kill. Might try here.
So, been trying to find out for years the name of the movie I watched years ago.

Basically, it was set during a war I believe. It started off with a girl driving with her parents in their car to escape the city. It may have been to escape the army. They were confronted and killed, or they crashed avoiding the army or something. The parents were killed, and the girl survived, and ran into a nearby forest, where she found a flute kinda thing (very ocarina esque flute), and upon playing it, was the destined to be the princess of the wind, or forest or something along those lines.
That's about all I can remember. She may have met a boy in there, can't quite remember.

It seemed like a ghibli movie, but it probably wasn't. It wasn't Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.

Any ideas?

It was an anime movie? Can you tell me, more or less, the year of release?
Do you remember any particular quote or actors/characters names?

I tried searching with the info you gave in the first post but nothing came out. Are you sure that what you said is what actually happens in the movie? (I'm asking you this cause I found 2-3 movies with a similar story but there are many different details).

I remember very distinctly them running from their home, the parents dying and the girl running off, finding some flutey thing and becomming some form of queen or princess of the wind/ forest. I can't remember if that was her dying or not though.

Can't remember year of release. It was on sbs about maybe 6-8 years ago? Which could mean it was released any year tbh.
