I probably am the only one who's getting hyped about it but who cares, I still have the urge to share.
Battle Of The Year or BOTY, is one of the greatest breakdance championships in the world. BOTY Qualifiers are currently holding place in every country to decide which of their crews is going to represent for the final showdown that's going to take place in France this year.
What i'm hyped about is not that it's taking place in France for the first time in 12 years (Well I still went crazy when i heard about it) but because a certain Japanese crew won their ticket for the internationals. The crew i'm talking about is MORTAL COMBAT! It's their 3rd participation. They went to the BOTY international for the first time in 2004 and then again in 2006. They hit the top 10 in both years.
Since 2006, we were dying to see them again but their chances slipped away each time. But this year, they did it! THEY'RE COMING BACK FUCK YEA! I yelled so hard at home that I scared the shit outta my dog.
Even if you don't care about Breakdance, know that Japan is one of the most inspiring nation in the bboy world, and that is enough to make us happy:
Here's their performance in 2006 that made the crowd go WILD:

Dang, sick video. I was JUST watching another vid about breaking.
World B-Boy Masters Championships
I love to watch it, but I could never do it. I've seen other girls breaking and it just takes an enormous amount of stamina and strength, not to mention coordination. Good for these guys though, I hope your team does well : )

Let's say I've got the knowledge of someone who breaks a lot :P.
Well if you're interrested in B-girls,
Narumi and Shie-chan are considered the best pair out there:
And yes, on a technical level, the Koreans are above everyone else, their moves seems unreal and they're always raising the level during battles.
Korean crews won the BOTY international at least 6 times whereas the Japanese have yet to win their first. That's why I'm always rooting for the Japanese bboys ^^.

I just love watching people dance in general, and breaking specifically is just like watching magic to me.
The only dances I can do are like:
Requires no athleticism whatsoever, lol. Those B-girls make me pretty much ashamed = =
I have love for both Korea and Japan, so I can fully support your team. Hopefully they will have a little extra luck in their corner. ❤
When is the competition?

Haha, I honestly didn't think I would see much others on this site interested in bboying.
Yeah, I usually get pretty stoked to see what the crews bring out each year but in my opinion, performances haven't been as great the last couple of years (notice the "in my opinion", I know a lot of others who think differently).
But if you guys want to learn how to break, you can. You just have to have the drive and be willing to put forth the effort. Give it a try, it's fun!
