Beginning a Good Job as a Typesetter/Translator

I've been studying Japanese for a good bit now and am able to read at a basic level, I see some translation sites looking for full fledged fluent Japanese speakers and writers and I know I don't meet that requirement.
I've been wonder for a good time now ever since I started to read manga, where do they start?
So I find that this would probably be the best place to ask and see, based on your information, I'm looking for a means of beginning in typesetting or translating I just need to know how to start.

I can't really help you with the translation aspect, but type setting is a totally different skill set. Unless you have a graphic design degree or background with it, it's not something you can easily just get into. I have a degree, and before that I scanlated/worked on comics, so you need to start small and work your way up in that department.

Look up the many guides there are to cleaning/typesetting manga, keep practicing and join a scanlation team. And keep working on improving yourself, don't fall into the habit of "eh, this is good enough".
It's also best to learn how to use a tablet for redraws and drawings in general.

Just remember though, you need a lot of free time set aside to be able to work as one.

Thanks for the tips, I've been wondering what would be a better fit for me since I'm studying Japanese as well and can translate some.

I would suggest an internship to build up your translation resume, if you're just starting out. I assume you're in college, maybe try and find resources of where and when to apply for a summer internship. Maybe overseas as well as domestic.

That is about correct. I'm studying in college now for Japanese Language and that's about it. I'm set in the intermediate courses.

I've yet to see any intern or job times in the state I'm in, this is why I'm mainly looking into online work to while I learn and grow.
