Black Rock Shooter

Just wondering, why is this so popular? it's still not out yet, I looked for it and all I could find was a trailer in youtube (quite normal if you ask me, looking cool but not something THAT amazing and original).

Was it a game? a manga? how come this thing that for me just popped up out of the blue a little ago is so popular. Can anyone tell me please?

Just to make clear, I'm not saying "This shit doesn't deserve all this praise". I'm asking "Why it has all this praise" since I know NOTHING about it and I want to know a bit more about it.

BRS is a song with Hatsune Miku. I guess they just liked how she looks and big guns, so people wanted an anime with her. I guess the music video had something to do with it all as well.

BRS, and the other BRS characters was from the start characters made by one of Supercell's illustrators, Huke. Ryo took a shine to the character and made the song "Black Rock Shooter" to the illustration. The illustration then lead to a PV by Anomaro-P. People started asking about it and yeah.. that's how it went.

Random trivia: The original BRS did not have twintails, but a single ponytail instead.

Ohhh! I see now, thanks a lot. Since I'm not a Miku fan (I somehow feel like I'll be crucified for saying that) I didn't know about it. Funny that while looking for it, I was like "why all I found is sung by Miku? I want to find the real thing".

Pretty impressive thou, it was more or less a song and due popularity they even made it into an ova, it probably catches the eyes of otakus cose she looks like miku :/

oh yeah. . . i recall one of my friends showing me this along time ago. . . really liked the awesome artwork animation but didn't really caught my attention
as far as i know is okay and is just a fan suggested anime

IMHO, just for fans. I found the song annoying, the character looks good, but very generic, and the enemy out of place.

But well, given how the world is now, I'm pretty much sure that this will be a huge success, just like K-On. I just couldn't bear that last one, but well, just see...

I approve of BRS

A fanmade song that later became an anime. That's enough to hype people up :D. That's the only reason I'm going to watch it anyways.
