Im naturally thin so im not saying this from experience but i guess make your own food, dont order out, also try to increase eating fruits and vegetables, run some laps every day, also do some brain activity, the brain uses the most energy in our body, less sweets, and that should be pretty much it i guess :S

Take it from a Marine, i have to weigh in twice a year at less than 180 for my height. All you need to do is cut your calories and exercise more. figure out what foods you like and their caloric values and than cut what you would normally eat. last time i had to lose weight i cut my daily calories to about 1000. I lost about 25 pounds in a couple of weeks. What some people say that you shouldn't eat certain foods(like carbs or meat or fat, whichever) doesn't really matter, just that you cut your overall calorie intake and increase the amount that you burn. What I ate was oatmeal mixed with some frozen fruit 3 meals a day, it was boring and it sucked but it worked. You don't have to eat just that but make sure that they are low calorie meals. Another tip I always got was to eat many smaller meals throught the day, so split each meal in half and eat it a little earlier and later than traditional meal times. While I was losing this weight I also exercised every weekday for about 1 to 2 hours, doing various different things. you'll want to vary your exercise routine so that your body doesn't become used to what your doing and so you don't get bored. As soon as things become easier you'll want to increase the weight or length of your exercise and make it more difficult otherwise you'll plataeu and stop making progress.

In addition to what everyone else has already said, I'd suggest eating smaller, but more frequent meals. It'll keep your metabolism going at a steady pace, as well as help to curb hunger.
Other than that, stay motivated and driven. GL! :)

The marine got it right. Listen to him.
But 1000 calories a day might be a bit drastic for you, try 1500 instead.

For me, I like to have a really big breakfast, and then less for lunch, and then an even smaller portion for dinner.
If you don't like that, all I can say is: NEVER skip out on your breakfast. It's what starts your metabolism for the day.

^ What she said. 100%.
I always have no energy if I skip out on my breakfast, and it makes me feel like eating A LOT of junk all day to make up for it.
Also, at least for girls, Cardio + Weight Training = Key to Success.
Make sure you do a good mix of cardio and muscle training. Cardio will rev up your metabolism to burn fat, but building strong muscles, especially larger muscles like thighs, keeps your body burning fat all day. More muscle burns more fat.
As long as you like the exercises you're doing, you'll be fine. Before long, you'll become addicted to working out anyway : )
I disagree with this passionately. I understand it's different if you have a specific health issue, but I cannot say this passionately enough:
Do not be afraid of carbs.
Fruits and whole grains are the backbone of your diet with nutrients you can't get anywhere else, and I hate to see people take dietary advice from fads. Just make sure you're choosing quality carbs instead of simple carbs. And it's all about balance with your other food groups.

Probably why asians, who eat tons of rice (which is almost purely carbs) above every other food, have the highest incidence of diabetes in the world, and now that they eat hamburgers, the incidence of diabetes is dropping.
Oh, wait, the the complete opposite of what's happening.
Even people with diabetes (such as myself), don't avoid all carbohydrates. Diabetics should avoid simple sugars (soda, table sugar, juices, etc), which cause a spike in blood glucose. Stuff like bread and rice take longer to digest, and so blood sugar doesn't spike as much. If anything, a diabetic on a ultra high protein diet (Atkins) would just be more prone to ketoacidosis.

Can I eat rice? :O Anyway~ Yeah I think you should eat smaller portions. I saw on the biggest loser the people supposedly ate every 3 hours but like snacks and small meals~ Coupled with whole grains and fresh fruit and vegetables. But now and again they did eat sweets and go out to eat but they did it smartly by getting the typical salad I know or fish or grilled chicken plates. But hey it worked out for them? So why not give it a try~^-^.

The main thing about dieting is sticking to the main three meals AND NOTHING ELSE! snacks and binge eating are the real killer. when you are done eating and you are almost full, push the plate away, even if there is food on the plate. Also cut out desert - or at least move it to lunch or something, so your body can burn it off instead of converting it into fat when you sleep...
With exercise, you have to be careful. Not only in the way of having to stretch, but people who don't exercise all that much, dont be so hooked on your kg weight in the beginning. If you exercise, you build muscle and muscle is heaver than fat. Exercise is for losing fat, not weight exactly. Keep that in mind, but try not to use it as an excuse. Also remember to drink lots of water!
And with the more protein thing, it is legit (not something I would try though) and there is also a more raw version of it called the Atkinson diet.
Also never take any form of diet which doesnt limit fat and carbs. There are different diets and most are just weird (i.e. the whipped cream diet...urgh). These will make you lose wieght in the beginning and seem like they are working, but this is more cause it upsets your internal chemistry. The body is made of a lot of water and it is this which is lost at the beginning of the diets, making it seem like fat loss.
So it is important to potentially take vitamin supplements in order to ensure that you body still can survive on an slightly unbalanced intake of food, i.e. a diet. Dont be on it to long though - a human needs a balanced diet for a reason.
Also motivation is king! Even if it is embrassing, TELL PEOPLE. Make bets with others (like a trip to the movies). So you have a motivation to succeed (i.e. respect from others, a free movie) and motivation not to fail (disapproval of others, having to pay others to see a movie...) and its really helps to have moral support!
All the best man, Im sure youll do great! :)
