D.I.Y local music scenes

Anyone else on here into the local diy music scenes in their neck of the woods? Did ya'll know yer town even had one!?! it may be small but they exist most everwhere but the smallest of towns. If yes, what are yer fav bands and venues?

I played in 2 bands within the Central and South Okanagan valley of British Columbia (Canada). Our scene was mostly Pop Punk/Alternative rock and Indie, but we did have a decent amount of metal bands of various metal sub-genres, some of which moved to Vancouver.
I'm not in any band as of late. Once I get settled I might start recording some stuff.


I play bass guitar and I can sing (sort of). I'm influenced by bands like Blink 182, Pennywise, Bad Religion, Iron Maiden, Sum 41, Gob, and Metallica.
