These are excellent. Thank you. If anyone else has any to contribute... feel free! Though Minsc will learn a lot from those above links.

you should start with drawing real human figures...
if you could master that, drawing anime would be easier and most likely fun

the best thing that you can do is practice, there really is no substitute. In fact there's one art class where you get a single pencil and yu homework is to draw it down to a nub by the end of the week

Hmmm, you could go to :

Has some nice tuts, hope it helps.
I might have some other sites to suggest, ill have to check into that.
Although, likes most people said (I think), just practice and draw whats around you and all. =)

I find that the best lessons are just practice practice practice. I've been doing my manga drawings for three to four years now and they have improved greatly. I'd show examples but none are on my computer >_>. If you need tips you could always look for books. There are plenty of "Idiot's Guide to..." and they gave me some ideas.

Bro, you should look at the time stamps next time. These posts were made 3 years ago. These users aren't even on the site anymore.

and for the topic.. I didn't use any drawing tutorials. All I did was just watch anime every time of my life. but, I'm not yet good at coloring.

With exception for faces. That's the only thing that's way off. Nothing alike.
But for everything else, yep- regular anatomy helps lots.
There's a buncha great tutorials on [url=http://www.deviantart.com]DeviantArt[/url, just type 'tutorial' into the search bar. Or 'anime/manga tutorial'. You'll get some great stuff.

Some proportions are usually slightly distorted, such as the nose, the jaw, the cheekbones and the eye cavities, depending on the artist. But that doesn't make it any less heavily based on the human figure.
You simply can NOT draw well in anime style without real human anatomy knowledge.

Exactly what I'm saying; the proportions are all over the place, fluctuating by no small amount from style to style.
Even the more realistic styles, such as Bible Black (kinda says something, that the most realistic I can think of is a hentai)exaggerate things slightly, whereas others, such as Lucky Star, are about as anatomically correct as the Simpsons.
As I mentioned before, most anime do quite well with bodies- of course, some styles play around with that too (Code Geass, XXXHolic, breasts in general)- but faces are what strike me as markedly different. (Which is also why I'm such a tough judge when it comes to cosplay, but that's another matter entirely.)

anime may have the basics down on anatomy but it tends to get exaggerated which looks alright to the fun part but bad in anatomy since nothing is that long or big so drawing from realistic is a much better way to improve your skills.

I have to agree more with McGee. While a basic understanding of the face's anatomy is helpful, most anime or manga is to deformed to really be that important. Only the most realistic and detailed anime have to take heed. Most manga doesn't have to worry about it at all since they don't have to worry about natural looking movement.
