Dreams denied
0
So everyone has some sort of dream or thing they wish to accomplish even if they act as if they do not. My question is to ask if anyone has lost hope in having their dreams accomplished? To have a dream become reality you need to have the confidence and motivation to strive forward, but in this world sometimes the dreams you seek are just simply unattainable. But should we cast it aside? I want to hear if anyone else thinks unattainable dreams are useless and should be disregarded or if that they can be inspirations to move forward even if in vain.

... explain to me how the hell anxiety and depression of all things stop you from being a well-known musician. One of my favourite artists is freaking bipolar, and he makes shit that makes him nationwide famous. He keeps it in check, and as far as I know, anxiety and depression can also be kept in check.
If anyone else wants to talk about why they don't think their dream is practical, I'm just going to leave this here for the time being.

Try starting small, you can't start with the finish (you can't start by instantly making music for a VN).
Try sending some Emails to indie VN company's with your work attached, maybe they'll get your name in the air, and maybe somebody might want you musical help.
Many young people who aspire to be something often make the mistake of trying to start at the finish line.

I said "To have a dream become reality you need to have the confidence and motivation to strive forward." I don't have either and I was using my dream as an example. I'm not sure anything is holding me back other than myself and i don't actually plan on making it that far. Then why try and practice? have you ever started a race you do not wish to finish? Anyways I can't remember the last time I did something that made sense. I'm probably just digging a hole for myself writing a reply but like I said I didn't start this to talk about my bullshit. I wanted to talk about if we should deny dreams because they are mostly unattainable wastes of time.

Not everyone can kip up from a depressed state and instantaneously and carry on with normal life. Some people need legitimate mental help and/or support from family/friends.
Now everyone can fight through it, but some can do it easier than others.

Hmm only dream I didn't accomplish so far was getting into MIT, though I made it a ways through that process.
Currently I don't have a single dream that is not slowly becoming a reality. (well ones that are scientifically possible)

*I'm not sure if this makes sense, but I wanted to include it ;P*
Spoiler:
denying a "dream" because it would be a "waste of time," I will agree with you. but, what defines "dream" and a "waste of time" is subjective, so it depends on the situtation.
I think people's priorities/goals in life change as they live, so it's just a matter of redirecting your efforts
I hope you are not thinking that abandoning your dreams means that all of your efforts will go to the garbage, cause you can channel what you've done into another path, that will hopefully take you to where you want to be :)

+1 :) I like your response
(basically regurgitating what you've said -> ) what some people find easy, others can find it hard (let it be school work, physical labour, problem solving, etc).

I always want to be Batman, not just in the flesh but in the mind, an idea, a beacon. People can die but ideas never.

I'm nearing 50 and had more-or-less accepted that I would be a low-level employee my entire life. Half the companies I've worked for are gone. Not bought out, not merged, just gone. But in May I learned that I had been noticed by senior management, and it was suggested I should earn a degree in accounting sooner rather than later. Oh, and there are some manager retirements coming up in the next few years. Wink wink nudge nudge.
Never deny or give up on your dreams & aspirations. Set them to the side, put them on the back burner, but never just give up on them. You never know when a door will open for you. It might not open, or you might not recognize it, but if you give up then you won't be able go through it if it does open for you.

Hear me out, I am also an aspiring Musician with 2 years of experience, and I also suffer of depression and huge lack of confidence. I rarely have inspiration, and I keep getting writer's block and running out of ideas for most of my compositions, never finishing them. It's really frustrtating, but so what? I just keep going at it because I love doing it, and even though it's hard to notice, Progress is ALWAYS being made, even though very slowly. I still have a lot of time in front of me and you have to work a LOT to get ANYWHERE with things like Music. I don't do it because I want to be well-known or professional, I do it because I LOVE doing it and if It does somehow manage to get me somewhere, then that's just a big bonus.
