dual core to core 2 duo in m26GT4 v2 mobo

May I ask if this motherboard supports the core 2 duo processor? I am trying to change my outdated amd athlon dual core 2.2ghz to core 2 duo processor but before I do things I just wan't to ask experienced people on good and bad things on this operation, yes I know how to actually change the processor what I'm asking is if it supports anything. My motherboard seemed to be outdated either so this is the information of my motherboard.

It says in the processor slot in the box is "SOCKET AM2", what is that? I'm not sure if this is the mobo I have but the image in the link is the same with my mobo.
Does it requires installation? with CD? or ready to use?
Please Im noob on this.

No it does not support a core 2 duo processor.
This is an amd motherboard. You can't put a cpu made by intel on it and vice versa.
Core 2 duos use lga 775 socket and you need a motherboard with a lga 775 socket on it to use one.
Same thing applies to the amd motherboard. You need an amd cpu with the am2 (or am3) socket to put on a motherboard with an am2 socket.
