I prefer not to use them, unless I'm actually talking to somebody on facebook, or via text, and feel the need to convey that I'm happy. If I'm chatting up a girl, or in my current case, talking to the girlfriend, I use them to sound happy. Cause for some reason, just text just doesn't seem right.

On forums, they annoy me a little too much, so I don't use them unless I feel the need. ;D
