Figures come , money go

Collecting pvc figures can really be a expensive hobby and recently Alter have been coming out quite alot of nice figures but would have to force to skip most of it due to budget. I have see some of the pics u guyz have posted and most of you have a massive amount of figures. Just wondering , how you guys manage to get 'em and at the same time still have food on the table ?

It's not like everyone with a decent collection makes 120,000 a year and buys figures in bulk. Atleast for me, what I've accumulated is more the product of time rather than money. But I do have a part-time job that functions primarily for hobby funds.

I see. Thanks FS-fan for sharing your view. They was this guy i knew and he been bringing back like big hauls from the local toy shop almost every 2 weeks or so. Thats what makes me to asked this question. This is the pic of his room and his office. I can't tell out who he is due to privacy issue.

There's more but I'll show you all until here.

Like what FS-fan has mentioned, one does not have to buy all the figures at a single go. Purchasing a figurine which you like once every 2 months or so will get you a collection after some time and still leave you enough for your daily expenses. Alternatively, there are some who purchase the older figurines which are sold at a cheaper price.

I can never really understand collectors like that.

He usually buy 2 of the same figure. One to open and display , while the another was kept in the box. I too usually kept my figure in box to prevent dust but i do open it once in awhile.

The biggest issue is not the money but the space. I have so many figures I don't know where to put them.

Holiday specials, sometimes you can buy bundles but those prices can be pretty steep too. I love collecting vinyl figures but even though I don't have very many, I'm already out of space.

Well it's the figure and toy companies war, but it's our money. Hah...probably I'll stop by the end of the year hopefully.

Figures can be expensive as some companies pvc now can be as expensive as some prepainted statues but not all pvc are expensive, i seen some pvc as low as $20. If you buy in a bundle, local stores can give you a discount and if its cash it can be more. The place I generally get my figures from gives a 10-15% discount on huge purchases and if it cash you can get it without tax which is about 8% here.
Ideally, you want to buy figures when you got the extra spending money but we all know that doesn't really happen. Spur of the monemt and must have figures tends to come at the worst time. What I normally do is plan ahead, look for sites with preorders and window shop first so you can save up for it.
I have about 22figures out in display and a closet full of gasph, trading figures, nendoroid etc as I ran out of room in my display glass. Anyone else hate cleaning their figures?

The national anthem of Norway is called 'Ja, vi elsker dette landet', which in English means 'Yes, We Love This Country'. It was adopted in 1864. The lyrics have been written by Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson and the music has been composed by Rikard Nordraak.
