Freak Accident

Have any of you ever experienced an out of nowhere, freak accident that has resulted in a serious injury? Serious as in requiring a trip to the hospital, or leaves you unable to preform everyday tasks properly for more than a few days.

I tore a ligament in my right foot when stepping out of bed half semi-awake. I guess the way I stepped cause my foot to roll like a newspaper. Ended up leaving me unable to use my foot for two whole months.

I had a similar type of accident when I was in middle school. I was messing around with a soccer ball and the top of my foot rolled right over it. Tore most of the muscle and couldn't walk on it for 4-5 months.

I once fell off backwards trying to get off the swing in recess near the end of fifth grade. Broke an arm. I also fell off my bike trying to turn so I could go down a steep hill. Before I was actually, y'know, there. Tore a tendon in my right leg. Walking was so awful I had to be picked up after that.

Was Freak an accident?

The closest thing to a freak accident I've had in my life was when I was a year old. One of my babysitters accidentally hit me in the head with a guitar and I had to get 4 stiches on my left eyebrow. I still have the stich marks, which are easy to see since no hair has grown over them.

Got hit by a car when I was seven. Probably got traumatized for life, as my parents noticed a change in me ever since that day.

I think having an accident on the road was also a common freak accident.

I was being hit by a "tricycle" when I was seven years old. I was hit on the head, resulting to a stitching operation that leave a scar on my head.

Just to tell you, having a scar on the head was pretty cool LOL

During school I once got rugby tackled too low and they tore a ligament in my knee. The day it happened I could walk on it fine at first, was just swollen as you could imagine. But over the course of the day it grew increasingly more difficult to walk. The pain that night reduced me to tears.

Went to the hospital and they gave me a knee brace.

It apparently wasn't bad enough to skip school so rather than traverse 2 flights of stairs each lesson, I used the school lift. Though one time a carer and her disabled fat kid in a wheelchair caught me and she chewed me out for it. Apparently being in visible pain when walking wasn't a good enough reason, yet being morbidly obese was.

It took 5 years to fully heal. By which I mean stop randomly dislocating. Bending my leg forwards to pop my kneecap back in and being sore for 20 minutes afterwards wasn't great, especially as it once happened whilst I was crossing a busy road.

i was skateboarding, albeit a little drunk and very early in the morning after it had been raining which involved in me falling down a ramp and breaking four places in my knee, had to cancel a tonne of upcoming plans and wasn't able to walk properly for months.

Not really a freak accident, but I broke my nose in the first grade. I was racing with some friends and ran full speed into some chin-up bars. They were shiny metal bars which is why I still wonder how I did not see them.

Almost a year ago now, some guy hit me with his van in the parking lot of a place I was applying for a job at. It broke my femur.
Said Guy was in a work van, and had drugs in there and was selling them to his clients, and apparently hit me to distract the cop car pulling in with a hurt person before trying to drive off. He didn't get very far. Im fine now.

That's the only one that I can recall happening to me as of late. I know my friend Kiki ( who we call Lime) had an accident playing outside as a kid that left her blind in her right eye and left a scar on her cheek. Not too terribly long ago a similar thing happened to her left eye while walking. Nobody knows what really happened other than it felt like something sharp swiped right by her face. Her eye recovered but it left another light scar on her cheek eerily symmetrical to the one on her bad eye

When I was a kid, I had a freak accident while playing a heated game of "Red Rover" when I fell down and my knee split open on the corner of an unseen cinder-block laying off to the side of our lawn. I distinctly remember not feeling much pain at first, and even thinking how oddly white the open gash in my knee looked before the shock wore off and both the pain and the bleeding started. Ended up needing 10 stitches, and because I couldn't bend my knee without risking re-opening the wound or tearing the stitches, I had to hobble along with a crutch for almost a whole month that summer.

On Dec. 29, 2014, I was going to my job at Taco Bell. I was living in Payson, Utah, travelling to Provo, Utah, where I was originally hired. It was about a 25-30 minute drive. The roads were incredibly icy and there were 80+ accidents that day. I skid on the ice, and I ran into the path of a semi-truck. My car was crushed, I had a traumatic brain injury, and my clavicle was broken. I was in a coma for week, and in the hospital for a month. I needed rehab to re-learn how to speak, walk, eat, shower, use the restroom, etc. It's been a pain in the ass to get back to normal again. I'm not sure if there was permanent brain damage or not, but I'm inclined to believe there was.

Only thing close enough is I was bitten by a dog out of the Blue. No growling, no looks, no nothing. The second it was in range it leapt and nicked me in the left thigh. It wasnt deep, 2 wouds, one about 1.5cm x 0.5cm the other about 0.5x0.5cm, both about 3 to 5 mm deep.

Fucking dog tried to pull that shit again, but I used a whiteboard I was carrying as a shield. Fucker (owner) didnt recognise me.

When i was 7 there was a vase on top of my TV and while clicking the buttons to change the channel it fell on me. Had to get 5 stitches on my forehead. At
Least the scar isn't that bad lol
