I won't be able to keep track of this thread anymore, I have given Masterwolf and Spice full control over it, Spice will be reposting it shortly.

Why would I have to remember specs of my GNU/Linux boxes? (just one of many many resources)

Because most Linux users are nerdy enough to know their box specs off by heart? Because sometimes those scripts aren't available, like when compiling your own kernel, or building a Gentoo or ArchLinux installation? Sorry, I was talking about the more hardcore side of Linux user. If a Linux user posted here, and they weren't a Noobuntu user, it would probably be a hard-to-solve problem involving quite a bit of work, because anyone who uses any other distro(excluding Debian) will have already checked all over the internet for a solution, and I expect them to know their box specs. My Programming teacher would've raped me had I needed to use a script to find out my specifications.
Anyways, I would appreciate it if people would refrain from posting in this thread unless they have an actual problem, all we're doing is cluttering it up.

As much as I appreciate the ideas you laid out in this post(especially the system specs and hijack for software issues) as a former support specialist, having them all post in one thread is a recipe for disaster. There will be too many different issues that could be easily confused, and will make it harder on those with issues to find the answer if they are wading through other peoples issues. Not to mention most probably wont even read this thread and just post their problem in a new thread anyways.
Edit: Maybe we can get your tips from the first post added to the rules sticky, Or make a new sticky on how to report problems?

I've worked several tech support jobs over the course of about 5 years. I'm a SysAd for RBC now. So long as people refrain from posting nothing but problems and solutions in this thread, it will be very easy to navigate.
I plan on giving direct links to each problem on the first post, so all people have to due is open up the thread, and click on the problem they want to go to, and bam, they'll be there. Vice Versa with the solutions.
This allows the thread to also become a repository for common problems that people can click on in order to get the solution they need.

Do not post a solution unless you are absolutely positive it will fix the problem. Theory crafting can be done within IRC/Chatroll/Private Messages, they are much better tools to use for any given situation.Edit: Topic post has been revised and updated to reflect the ideas I've outlined in this post.

So you are shooting for a masterlist type of thing? If so I'll provide whatever support I can and maybe we can knock out some the the common issues. Although I think some complex issues may have to have their own threads.

I will be your first issue then. Since no one can figure out what the problem is.

If after uninstalling the video driver, rebooting into safe mode and running driver sweeper on your display driver, then rebooting and installing the latest driver doesn't solve the issue then the issue is more often than not a flaw with whatever program you were using when the error occurred. I just had that exact same issue on one of my older games that had a flaw when running with a dual core (or greater) processor. My solution was to set the affinity of the program to only use core0 (right-click the taskbar, select task manager, go to processes tab, find the process and right-click it and set the affinity). The problem is that you always have to do this every time you play the game. You can also edit the program's .exe to always do this with ImageCFG so you don't have to manually do it every time. Make sure to make a copy of the exe first in case it doesn't work (My Sim City 4 game didn't work and I am stuck with manually setting the affinity every time I want to play it). This may not fix your issue but it solved mine. It could also be that your laptop's graphic card has gone bad and the only way to fix that is to send it in to be checked and paying some dosh.

Remember I made a thread on that before and you said do all that and it didn't work.
Heres my hijack thingy. Want me to analyze it?

I don't remember you ever mentioning having a problem with your display driver - only with your mic and your ISP unless this happened months ago.

RocketDock is not compatible with x64(64Bit) operating systems, please uninstall the application and see if the problem persists.

Spoiler:
There is a few issues. You have some stuff with missing files. I would suggest running a registry cleaner and also clearing all your temp files and what everyone forgets empty your trash can. This wont fix your issue totally but should clean up that hijack report. Also it seems you have some windows issues since WMP is reporting missing files. Have you tried a rollback and when is the last time you let Windows update itself?

I beg to differ RocketDock works fine with a 64bit operating system.
I'm running it on my current Windows 7 Pro installation and previously on my Vista 64 bit box.
