Hardware not being detected?
0
Today i got a razer black widow ultimate 2013 as a birthday present, when i installed the synapse 2.0, it says "Please connect a razor 2.0 synapse device" , but it still says that even when i do plug in the keyboard. One thing that confuses me is that windows 7 detects the keyboard being plugged in and says installing drivers but then is unable to install them. The keyboard also appears under device manager in "Other devices". It seems the usb ports are working fine, but the keyboard does not function at all, and i dont think its broken because its being detected but not recognized by the software. Any solutions? Thanks

After I bought a Razer mouse about 5 years ago I will never go back to them again. The firmware on the mouse would periodically become corrupted every few months until I got fed up with it and bought a decent Logitech mouse and never went back.

The driver for that doesn't work because thats not the 2013 edition. The keyboard itself seems to work when i'm starting up the computer, i can use it to maneuver though the BIOS, and it lights up and everything. But as soon as i get into my desktop it stops working, and appears in "Other Devices" under device manager. Windows says i need to install the drivers for it, but i cannot do this due to razer synapse not detecting the keyboard itself. The exact same thing is happening with my Logitech G430 Headset which i also bought.

Razer Synapse 2.0 (12.3 MB)
Synapse 2.0 is a cloud-based manager for Razer's devices, there have been notable problems since it's release, my only suggestion is to try re-installing it. The driver Johnny P. linked is legacy software and Razer doesn't offer separate drivers for their peripherals anymore. Once you install Synpase you can't use legacy drivers with your keyboard either.
You may want to give them a call, I'm sure you're not the only one that's suffered from this issue before, they'll know more than we will.
Logitech G430 Driver (50.4 MB)
Size is approximate, based on a x64 setup file. You will need to set your operating system and architecture type (x64, x86, 64-bit and 32-bit respectively) in the left sidebar before downloading the driver, failure to do so may result in the installation of a driver that isn't supported by your operating system.
Don't rely on Windows to install new drivers, enjoy.
