How Good is this?

So I'm just trying to figure out if this barebone kit is any good. I know a bit about computers, but when it comes to motherboards and other parts I know little to nothing.

For the price yeah. I'm not a fan of AMd but yeah it nice.. i would invest a nice gpu and maybe update to usb 3.0. Never use boistar.. i'll just leave that to someone else to answer. 8gb of ram is good. Your going to need a PSU.. Power supply. Depending on your graphic card.. because your going to need one, your psu will need to be min 350/400.. check on the graphic card box for the min.. higher the card more power it need to be.

If we could know what you want to mainly use this computer for we could give you more quality advice rather than just what we think of the value

It's not a bad setup for the price. I recommend getting a decent graphics card since you're using it for gaming and editing.

If its for gaming, I would get more than a barebones kit, do you have a specific budget? because while that is a good computer for its price its PSU is lacking for a decent video card, which means a secondary expense to get the already expensive GPU

The computer I have right now is alright for what I use it for, I just thought I would check into that barebone kit since it's around $150 off, it's nothing I really need in the immediate future.

Excuse me, but:

A reliable 400W-450W PSU tends to be enough for anything!
The only reason GPU manufacturers recommend 600W and higher insane ratings is because most people skim on the PSU and buy a shit tier model, from a shit tier manufacturer. You're lucky if you get as much as 50% of their nominal wattage out these "bargains".
(So 600W...900W/2 = 300W-450W).
Let me post this article for the 1 million + 1st time:
Why 99% of Power Supply Reviews Are Wrong
A PSU:
- Has to hold its voltage under load.
- Has to provide voltage with very low noise.
- Should provide surge protection.
- Should filter noise from the main outlet.
90% of the shit tier "bargains" one sees sold (especially assembled PCs or "kits") can't even hold their load, much less do the safety features you likely want.
