Earlier I downloaded a special from an anime (Ladies vs. Butlers) from this site. What I didn't know is this video had a very high pixel resolution. When I launched the second special my computer went blank for a moment and I had to reboot the machine because my graphics went out of wack and it gave me an error message. I rebooted and now my downloads and internet are going really slow. I've already tried to do system restore but I cannot go to the point before this happened. What should I do?

I am not that great at giving such information so I may be wrong, but here goes:
CPU
Intel Celeron 2.20 GHz
512 MB of RAM
Operating System
Windows Xp
Graphics controller
Intel 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV
I do not know what brand of motherboard I have... I am not sure how to look up EXACT specs.

WOW that really low... unless your running programs when your watching anime should be ok, but bust out some cash for more ram... your hard drive will thank you.

Depends on your model and age on your computer... guessing you bought the computer pre built for a mass market store like a walmart in your country. and it aleast five to ten years old. but let say it you have a 2gb maximum or two slots on the ram board, full it up to the maximum. to install the ram, well i can't just tell you that because i don't you what you have.. is it a laptop or tower.
tower http://www.ehow.com/how_895_install-ram.html
laptop http://www.ehow.com/how_5076740_installing-laptop-ram-desktop.html
my advice is taking it in to a computer shop or buying a new one. If your not working in a clean room and grounded from static electricity you can really mess up the thing.

Spoiler:
It's a DELL desktop, a tower (I am guessing it is from walmart, this was given to me so I don't know where they got it from) and I looked at the basic info on it, it's from 2003. BTW, does setting the tower on top of newspaper suppress static electricity?

not sure... maybe not. I suggest a wood table or something grounded. Wear less clothes, better if your in your underwear but i wear a tshirt and cotton shorts latch to a grounding band. Go into a small clean room kitchen will be the best outside of a bathroom . Look up your model and it will tell you your model # of the ram card needed. Dell's usually have a finger latch or a sliding case latch.

You need DDR type memory. You can go here to get some: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007611%20600006040&IsNodeId=1&name=184-Pin%20DDR%20SDRAM. Pretty much everything here you can use. To be certain you should find your compatible memory list from dell. Depending on how much money you have, you might consider buying a new machine. That hardware is not going to support much software for very long. You'd be better off in the long run.

Ugh, I am lost...

Less clothes your wearing the less chance of static electricity built up. some don't do it because their only a chance of a spark, but better safe than sorry and that only when your touching the inside of the computer removing and changing parts.
Spoiler:
number one on the pic. it not the tech term for it but most computers come with three or so designs. 1. using cover latch release aka finger latch since it can be open with a push of the finger, 2. slide cover and 3. screw latch cover since the a screw latching the cover to the frame of the tower.

I encountered another problem as well. I cannot view streaming videos and images take for ever to show. My machine was working fine (even with what I now know as obsolete PC) until the download happened. I just want everything back to normal and how to fix it. As I am typing this message the page is still trying to load something.

it can be a couple of things. bad program, poor net strength or virus/worm.
the last too is easy, test your internet with http://speedtest.net/ and run your anti virus and spyware program. the first one... i can;t think of anything outside of getting someone to see what up.

Spoiler:
if it your wifi then it slow, if it your cable Ethernet then it super slow, but it would take longer to buffer the vid not stop it from loading... idk from my view.

Then it the line that lagging the download speed, it might just be a higher demand on the main line or there changing servers or some like that but it also can be a virus. run your anti virus and scan with your spyware program, and time will tell.

I hope it will help if you knew the cause.

edit- I contacted my friend with the same ISP (Road Runner) yesterday and he said his internet had no problems. Also, I use malwarebytes as my anti virus protection and it cannot detect anything. That's after sweeping my C drive twice.Every other program on my PC runs fine, it's just the slow internet and my downloads keep failing.
