Ideas?

So, I'm in a bit of a pickle and I could use some outside help solving a fairly large problem.
tl;dr
Should I renew my lease I can't afford or is there some way I can get by for a few months to buy an apartment I'd need to renovate? Any ideas would be helpful.

Either can do one of three options in my view.
Live in your car until you get your irs check or the camping lot at a park.
Stay in one of those weekly motel rooms or
Squat in a abandon building.
I confused on the mother thing. She doesn't want you with her or that apt to remodel? Even though my mother was a drunken slut and bad mother for most of my life i still could go back to live for a while. Still i rather live in my van and i did. I did this until i got to bootcamp and could pawn my brothers with someone to take care of them until i could get base housing or mom get out of rehab.

Well, the first problem us that I don't have a car, I have a scooter that's disassembled in a box in my Mom's garage.
Second, to explain my situation with my Mom, she isn't going to help my older, younger sister (2 years younger than I am, but 15 years older than my youngest sister) at all. We're disenfranchised, disowned and otherwise on our own. My sister has enough savings to get her own place and she and I don't get along... To the point that she'd leave me to my fate rather than help in this situation.
The weekly hotel isn't a bad idea though. I'll have to pick up another job to meet bills, and I'll have to move in immediately after buying the place to save as much money as possible, but I've lived in houses without most amenities before. If I play my cards right I may even be able to get a cheap refrigerator and stove from some of the people I met doing scrap.
Any alternative suggestions? Not saying that Freak's idea is bad (I actually think it's a good idea), but I'd rather have other options to weigh it out.

If you're really that good with fixing up older places as you say it, I'd say go with Freaky's idea.
The hotel will be good enough until you can get the not-so-fancy place to be livable.
Good luck.

Personally I'd go for the cheaper place and renovate it. Even if it's not completely ideal you still have a place to live and have enough money for food. Or you could go to a food bank (if you have those there) to get the bare essentials to live on while you're saving up for a renovation.
Don't stay at your current place if you can't afford to eat.

So, good news, bad news, and a possible new option. The good news is my leasing office was incorrect and I have until the end of April to move out. The bad news is that I need to pay for my prospective place all at once, and I can't do that. The new option is helping a friend convert his family's garage into a studio apartment and renting that dirt cheap as long as my labor to do all the work is free. I need to build walls, run wires, find a way to insulate the garage door, install a few windows, install a door that locks on both sides, do the flooring and painting and whatever appliances are put in, I need to integrate them into the kitchen to maximize space. The new option is a fairly bad deal on my end, but it seems to make the most sense.

go with the third option and ask if you can get few months free rent for doing all the labour for free
if you can take any appliances from your current apartment take them
if the rent is going to be cheap it may let you save some money until you get your tax rebate and use that money for the down payment of a run-down apartment which you can do up and rent out to other people, giving you another source of income

You say you got a torn down moped in the garage. This takes me back, me and my dad got into argument and I decked him, he kicked me out of the house for the summer and I made a nice little nest in the garage attic, it sucked, but at least I had a roof over my head. The garage had electricity so tuffing it out wasn't too bad.
