Im geting back into shape and want you along for the journey

Hey guys,
I don't really post on the forums as much as I could so I thought this might be a way for me to get to know some people and get motivated to get back into shape in 2012!
I'm going to use this thread as a kind of diary of my ups and downs with my health regime as well as day to day tid bits about my life as and when it happens!
Id love for people to reply and give me tips for a healthy lifestyle. The kind of things I would like input with are;
Meals? I'm a good cook so most things wont be out of my skill range (budget tho! I am a student!)
Fitness on a budget. At the moment I can't afford a gym membership (but I am a member at a squash club) so any tips on what you guys have done to shed the pounds are super welcome!
Any form of motivation!Any well dones or keep goings! are welcome, in fact they are positively encouraged!
So before I begin my journey I should give you a little infomation about myself should I?
My name is Abeo, I've been lurking here for many a year!
Im a 23 year old student from the UK in my final year before I do a Master degree next year (already sorted so no worries there!)
I play Squash for my University but I also used to Swim and play American Football until the injury that started all of this off!
About a year ago I tore my ACL and dislocated my knee at the same time (anyone who plays sports will know what this mean) and was put out of action for a substantial amount of time. I piled on the weight and have now ballooned to 16.4 stone (229.6 pounds. That's a 4 stone (56 pound) increase since I got hurt!
Now im not saying im going to die from the weight but its starting to get in the way of my every day life!
I have decided therefore to lose at least 3, maybe even all 4 stone over the coming months/year and I invite you all to be part of the journey.
PHEW sorry that is a lot of text and thank you to anyone who got through it all!
If anyone has any questions post them here and I WILL answer you!
i might even post a pic of myself so you can hopefully track my progress as time goes on.
Well I hope this kind of idea is welcome here, and I look forward to making new friends along the way :)
This is totally legit btw, I WILL be following through on this!
(p.s sorry if this is in the wrong area I didnt know where else to put it)

Regardless of replies I might as well keep to my word and start with my updates!
Started my new health kick today 26th of December.
After a very satisfying Christmas day (much turkey and presents were had by all) I woke today feeling refreshed and energised. I took out my old football cleats and on the spur of the moment went for a run round the local fields!
And this was before breakfast too!
I arrived home about 70/80 minutes later and whipped up a quick breakfast of Melon and grapefruit.
Lunch was much of the same so nothing to report there.
I was stunned by dinner however.... A full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings (again!!) my Grandparents had come to visit as I was home for the holidays and without me knowing my mother had cooked up a storm whilst I was upstairs doing my Thesis!
Feeling bloated after round 2 of turkey dinners I went for a walk.
My evening thus far has consisted of alternatively working on my Thesis (very slowly) and selecting new pc components for my slightly ageing and currently not working rig!
If anyone is reading, how was your Christmas? or even if you do not celebrate for any reason, how are you this holiday season?
