I have been meaning to post this topic before but i kept on being side tracked but anywho:
There is a girl in my college who has made it very obvious that she likes me. However, I think she is pretty attractive and she is very nice but it's very hard to make any type of conversation with her at all. We also have 50/50 in common like, she loves Heavy Metal, i love Heavy Metal. She likes gaming, I like gaming. but on the other hand she also likes stuff that i absolutely hate like for example British Reality TV shows but anywho. Hell i even managed to introduce her to anime and she liked it but i couldn't even get a conversation out of that from her. Plus i get the feeling that i like her, but i don't you know, i don't necessarily LIKE her like that (so many likes :P). What do you suppose i should do..?

Date her for a while and see what happens. If it doesn't fly from there, then don't get with her. If it does work, go for her and hopefully she becomes your girlfriend.

If she likes heavy metal, anime, and gaming then she is a keeper. Actually. It all depends on what she likes to play. Is it RPG, MMO, FPS, et cetera. You have to find this stuff out buddy. And the whole asking her out part. It all depends on if you are ready to, or want to. If you want to, then you have my blessing. If not, then it is your own reason.

I say go for it!! no one is have 100% the same interests,she sounds fun, even if it isnt "love" dating a girl beats hanging around dudes all the time.

I'd say go for it, you never know until you try. Like Randomness said, just date her and see what happens. If you somehow find that you don't love her then just tell her straight that you don't.

You don't have to go out just with people that 100% like everything you like to a tee. Even 50/50 might be overkill. It's no fun if you're exactly the same and can't learn any new things from each other, right? I say give it a try, honestly. I don't see why you're making a fuss out of this, just relish in it and have a good time!

You know the saying: Opposites attract. Even if there are things that you despise that she likes, she can tease you about it and both get a good laugh out of it. Your reactions to how much you hate the thing she likes could well be amusing to her, and make her like you even more because you show that you at least have a sense of humour in some weird fucked up way. Basically turn a bad thing into a good thing.
As Andy said, you don't need to 100% like everything. It helps to have a good conversation though, so work on that a little. She might just be a little shy around you. But otherwise, just go with the flow and stop overthinking things. Go on a date with her and see how much you two click.

Thank you all for the advice, i appreciate it.
However i have made the decision to stay single. I really don't want women to be the be-all end-all of my life again. Besides, Like i said it, it is almost impossible to get a conversation going with her, so what is the point in going out with someone who i don't feel comfortable talking too? Also, i said before that i like her, but only as a friend but nothing more than that at all.
I think i'm going to just focus on what is important other than trivial things like this and if i find a girl in the future who i like then i'll see what happens. Sorry if i am coming off as a dick or anything, Just being honest and truthful.
