Ok long story short i bought a house and layed the wiring for each room to have a data plug jack, but i going to use the shed on the otherside of the property( on that side it about five acres or 450-500 or so yards)for my darkroom/workroom for my photo and art work space. I tested the range of my wifi and it's crap to nothing.
Either A. i lay cat5/6 cable down to the room and get lagging speed.
B. i use a wifi extender.
Or C. add a phone jack for dsl or see if the cable company can add that to the bill and let them lay the cable. Which would be best.

Better to get the wifi extender. Much less of a hassle than having wired internet and its cheaper too.

To answer your question here.
Your best option would probably go with a booster antenna (assuming you have line of sight) as the best option for long cable runs is proper fiber plus cat5 isn't exactly designed to be run out in the elements.

I would of buried it thru wire piping like i would power and fiber optics.

super long ethernet cord....Ethernet cords can only be so long.
if you have to go with underground wiring i would think that coax cable would be the best option for that length. unless you can do wifi.

im saying what i think could work, not everything here is correct.

not everything here is correct. No, but running an ethernet cord across 5 acres would lead to severe if not complete signal degradation, which would be considered as a resolutely incorrect answer.

well, too bad my suggestion was wrong then.

So just assume that you don't know anything so that will save me the trouble of having to delete your posts.

I could run coax if i decide on cable net, or just get a mod router and use direct tv's net which would be ok until the clouds come.. since i still have to run phone lines to it.. i might just use dsl or jusy pay more and use my phone has a wifi connection.

Yes, there are technologies to handle this problem, but none of them are consumer grade.
It is possible to lay down twisted pair cables that long (STP - shielded TP - exist for a reason), however all in all using Ethernet over this distance is iffy at best. Just as with coaxial there are techs to handle this problem, but once again they're not common, consumer grade solutions.
Strike that! It's available, but not cheap:

There's fiber optic which *is* the tech for this is you gotta have a hard line, I have no experience dealing with this, so you'll have to do more research if you go with this. Keep in mind, this might set you back several hundred bucks.
Then there's WiFI which may be the most simple and cheap solution, just use directional antennas on your network card(s), that's out to boost signal receipt significantly.
You can read more here, unlike me (as I only have a general networking knowledge as what I learnt deals with stuff on the end of the "Internet cable" rather than laying said cable) seem to have real world experience:

IMHO the best 2 solutions are:
a) Using WiFI. Pros: cheap, can reliably handle the distance. You can set it up however you want. Cons: bad weather may hamper your network access. *You* have to set it up and maintain it on your own.
b) Using the telephone/TV line and setting it up as a second host of your ISP. Pros: it's not your problem, the ISP/Telco company will handle this. Con: you won't have a LAN, your two sites will only be able to access each other through the Internet so file/resource sharing is more problematic.

yeah i tried google to see if someone had made some half ass drivers for using fiber optic audio line for networking... sadly i did not find anything :(
it would probably be pretty useless anyway
it was a funny idea though.
oh also i got this old network hub from somewhere that has a coax adapter on it... it would not be fast but good enough for most, add that and high latency and you got a bunch of fun, not to mention you still got to install it...
flaser has some good shit i would go for that.

I spend 90,000$ on the land and another 25,000$ on the gutting and remodel of the place.. another 300$ for a extender isn't that bad.. i'll see if i can find a better wifi card with a antenna or raid the supply bone yard for that old parabolic dish. The lab geek love making shit.

yay for parabolas! that may work.
I did some research it should work, if you do it right but seeing as how you brought it up i am sure you will. thought i dun wanna look up how to do the math, to see if it would work at that distance...
