Kickin' it Old School
Old music?

I don't know 'bout you folks, but I love old music.
Rock n' Roll, Jazz, Big Bands, Blues, Ballroom, Motown- if your grandparents listened to it, so do I.
Anyways, just wanted to know if there were people of like mind here. And I mean people with a real aversion to practically anything modern in music. I can think of maybe 8-10 artists/bands that I like who have been performing for less than 20 years.

I love The Beatles. I grew up listening to them, as did my dad. There music is timeless, if there's on band I will never grow sick of it's them. I really don't listen to much new music, my dad grew up with all the classics and he's my biggest musical influence. He played bands like The Beatles, Pink Floyd, etc, all the time when I was young. I loved car rides because that's when he would play the most music, in fact, about half of the bands I know I first heard on a trip some where. Oh, the memories.

I love music from the 70's- mid-90's, it comes from having to listen to the flashback Sundays in our car's radio as a kid.

Depends the mood, but generally yes. Though of "olde timy" music choices I prefer Country music from the 50s and before.

wow, among my friends, I'm considered a lover of old bands, but this is taking the cake
xD
The oldest band that I regularly listen to are the Doors, I think, followed by Tom Waits.

Older is usually better. It's usually Queen when I'm listening to older music, but I have a few tracks from the Steve Miller Band, Eagles, Chicago and Fats Domino.

Personally I'd like nothing better to do then sit in my 1932 Ford Deuce Coupe and play some good ol' rock n' roll.
*sigh* I can dream.

Every now and then, I listen to Old songs, even though many years have passed, the songs still have their liveliness and meaning. :')

And someone's gotta uphold the legends around here.
Oh yea that entire album is fantastic. The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, another great song from them. It's feels odd when the main singer is also the drummer... I should also add that their name is brilliant.
Here's a few other classics.
Spoiler:
As much as I love the old classics I don't want to neglect the present so I try to listen to the new albums. And to be fair there is a few good one each year.

I don't entirely dismiss new stuff, but I am extremely skeptical.
I also think there's a bit of a schism in genre; there's some pretty good metal, for example- but not really anything worth mentioning in rock or blues.
And of course there's the plethora of Pop/Hip-Hop/whatever plays on the radio now. You get some catchy tunes, akin to the sort of party music such as Aqua.
