Linux, anyone?

Just made the jump from Windows to Linux. Starting off with Ubuntu right now and might move on once I get more experience and if I see something else I like more. Anybody else here running Linux, and if so, do you have any advice on learning more about it? I mostly ask this because I'm just in the very beginning stages of cutting my teeth and programming and want to find out as much as I can. Thanks!
Peace,

Running Ubuntu on server, Gentoo on netbook.
As for learning, best thing to do is use it profusely, and look up help when you run into trouble.

I used to run Ubuntu, but that was more out of necessity than desire. Really the best thing to do is just kind of play around and learn. The Ubuntu community, while some might be a bit dickish in their own pontificating world, most are generally helpful and it's a good way to experiment and play around with the Terminal.

I just installed ubuntu 10.10 on my laptop out of necessity, well as a newbie on linux i suggest you jump in on the ubuntu help forums. Remember to search first before posting questions or you might face someone bashing on your topic.

I used to run Ubuntu back when I was programming.
I guess I'll stick with Windows, but Linux might make a come back.

Haven't been using Linux for quite a while now, last time I was using Ubuntu just for fun. Well I actually like it, but due to the release of Window 7 i haven't touch Ubuntu or any other Linux Os for quite a while now. Maybe planning in the future.

I was dual-booting Ubuntu when I programmed in Ruby, and Windows 7 for my everyday needs; until I bought another macbook, where programming Rails & my everyday necessities are all a much smoother experience. What language are you looking into?
