Live messenger error when Japanese locale is set

As stated in the topic when I set my computer, which is a brand new machine that I purchased to replace my old one that was with mother board issues, to Japanese locale, which I left as permanent setting in my old computer and ran the live messenger without any troubles, other than having to retype my id and password every time that I restated the machine, so I could play the games that I downloaded here, in my new machine I can't log in the messenger when the locale is set to Japanese, but when I return the locale to Portuguese which is the original language the live messenger works as a charm.

I have tried several suggested methods that I found on the internet, un and re installed the messenger several times, altered the clock, yet the error persists, the error code given by the messenger is 8001012e, it gives the same code every single time.

I ask for help in solving this issue as I wish to place this machine in Japanese locale in a permanent setting changing to others if need arises as I did with my older machine, both machines are running windows XP, so I can play the games when I feel like to without having to change the settings every single time back and forth, as well worrying that I might be missing a chance to chat to contacts that log sparsely, or receiving notifications of mails as soon as they arrive.

The fact of having to change the locale back and forth, as well the lack of contact with my contacts remove much of the fun of the playing as I would be worrying about something might or not come.

I appreciate any help in solving this problem.

I'd either switch to using Pidgin messenger client, or using a tool called NTLEA to play games in japanese locale by emulating it without having to change your system's locale from US, google for it, and I think that someone actually posted it in a thread in this section somewhere else.
