I created a similar thread a couple of months ago. Got few replies, but I can for sure recommend you Whispered, a finnish melodic death metal band with japanese folk influences. Also, try Omnyo-Za.

I don't like death metal at all, but it is a lol and i enjoy it through that (as do most i'm sure, apart from the pure anger)
