and it made me want to put together a playlist of Neo Wild West music, the sort thing you'd hear in a modern day or futuristic Wild West setting.

ot: I'd recommend the Red Steel 2 sound track:
What Red Steel 2 did is that the game and the music both shared a Wild West and Medieval Japan feel. Surely there is something in there for you.
And I'm sure there are artists who make music with a Wild Western theme to it; I don't know any myself, but I'm sure there are some artists.
