Loyalty of Dogs
0
So today, i dont know how but on Youtube, i ended with watching about dogs well being loyal. like Dogs saving a another injured dog on a highway, dogs staying next to their dead owners. Then i saw a video link to Hachiko (the 1987 film). I remembered this story because we talked about it in middle school. Already from the other loyalty dogs staying with their owners, my chest was already tightened. So when i saw a Hachiko video, tear started falling. Now i want to see if my library has this movie or the remake. I have to see it now. So I just wanted to share this, i wanted to talk to this with someone.

My dog follows me where ever i go. She can get really annoying sometimes too. I cared for that dog for the past 16yrs of my life. She is old but she still has fight left in her. I love her allot and it would break my heart to see her finally pass away one day. The past week i couldn't even take her out for a walk because of bad weather.

Dogs are loyal and they really care about their owners, sometimes even if the owner treats the dog badly.

And this good sirs is why dogs are superior to cats.

Curious and Wondering
Of all the animals I've had as pets, all of them exhibited some form of loyalty that I found to be different yet still the very same for each of them. Ferrets, cats, dogs, pigeons... as long as you respond to them in a friendly fashion and being kind yet not indulgent (and it helps if you had them while they're young), eventually they'll be loyal. Some take longer than others, though. Like dogs - I found them to pick up on it easier.
My father's dog, Rusty, likes me more than my father (can't blame dad, he's a bit aloof), always tries to jump onto my bed, and always sleeps a couple of feet away from my room door. Dad was pissed off when he threw dog crackers and Rusty didn't respond - I threw them the same way and he jumped high to get it.

The dog I put down a few weeks ago; we fought two Rottweilers away from a little girl once.
We both had to get rabies shots after that, but we were best buds.
True story.

My family works with the local rescue for our breed, so most of the stories i hear are pretty sad. in fact, we're down to the last two of a group of eleven that were dumped at a shelter in a near by county. these two are so messed up in the head they can't be placed as pets, so they'll stay with us. the original owner was a breeder* hoarder who was on the verge of legal action from animal control. so they took the dogs to a shelter in another county, and singed a paper that said to put them down instead of try and place them in new homes. the people at the shelter 'accidentaly' screwed up the paperwork, and called us instead. they were all in terrible condition hygene wise. several had mats covering most of there body from never being brushed. a couple had one large mat. they all had to be shaved down to the skin. the only thing the previous owners did do was feed them regularly. on the up side of that story, nine were placed in new homes with people who will take better care of them.
