Music Making program.

I've been searching for ages for a decent music program I can use to make basic beats with. I have Virtual DJ Home Edition, but that's more of just a remixing program than an actual music maker. Anyone got anything?

Vocaloid is the wordI could've told you that. Vocaloids are awesome, it's just not the type of thing I'm looking for.
...But..Where could I download the Vocaloid program?

Don't go with pirated vocaloids D: you'll tarnish miku's maidenhood. Anyways go with UTAUloids, teto's voice is decent and it runs on the same engine

Meh, that's all shit I gotta buy. Of course, I guess that's the only way of obtaining it. Cause I've never fuckin' figured out how to use torrents.

Torrents aren't difficult to use, there are guides lying around the internet via google search. And yes I've used Fruityloops before and I can say it's most likely what you're looking for and more.
You realize how much ass teto's voice sounds like (or all the utauloids and even vocaloids) without a bit of post processing. And then there's the appends and Vocaloid 3 coming out.

I second Reason
Been on that for years.
Thinking of adding Ableton to my arsenal soon. [also a very good choice, even better for live performances with a APC40]

I use Fruity loops 9.. shit works well for me.. but i hear that reason and ableton are better... but it's all really about mastering the program... i've been using fl 9 for around a year and i still haven't figured out how to make good music... that being i'm not overly musically talented.. all i can manage is trance stuff :

If you have a Mac, use Logic. If not, ProTools. Both are expensive as fuck, but they're the industry standard.
Reason is good. So is FruityLoops, but I really don't like its interface. YMMV.
Cheaper options are Reaper and Mixcraft.

Protools is great for recording... we used it in my old school for making songs for our bands... but yeah, expensive as fuck.
i wonder if anything is easier/ better to use than fl studio :

Oh, btw, as far as notation software goes, I recommend Finale or Sibelius. Finale has cheaper versions (with less functionality, but you can always find a balance), while Sibelius does not. I'm more of a Finale user, and teh bf is more of a Sibelius user. Sibelius has a marginally simpler interface (which is why teh bf likes it), but IMO, Finale is the more powerful program, and has better MIDI samples.

or rather... i'm trying to figure out how use it, since i always do random things.
