My friend may have brain damage from a drug help?

ok so i didn't really find anything and basic internet searches said it isn't too harmful but my friend (illegitimately my friend btw) took some modified lsd the other day with psilocybin in it and he apparently "is suffering from spasmodic memory loss" according to him (doctor told him that (guess its not too bad if he remembered that and all))
the doctor pretty much already caught on and recommended to his parents he get a drug test for it and i was urging him to do so and come clean in case it becomes permanent since it sounded like it might from what he was saying. Idk if it is the psilocybin that made his memory derp but either way just wanted to know if anyone knows something about what the possible long term side effects of this could be

That is really hard and unpredictable to say. It could resolve, or the effects may be long lasting. Best you can do is encourage your friends to come clean, get help and avoid doing any further damage in the future.

I knew two people who something similar happened to. in both cases it was long term, and irreversable.
one was on a greyhound bus from california to florida. he bought a vial of liquid acid(LSD) in texas, and ended up taking it all before he arrived. he was a whole different person when he got back to CA.
the other was a dude i knew since elementery school. repeated and prolonged use of both LSD and mushrooms(psilocybin) also ruined his brain. to the extent that he earned the nick name Will Robinson, because he always seemed to be lost in space.
in the first case, he was a major asshole before the bus ride. after, he was kind of 'out there', but he was a much nicer person.
in the second case he was a lost cause who required near constant supervision.

People don't "modify" LSD with psilocybin. Psilocybin is a naturally occurring substance in mushrooms. In order to lace LSD with it, you would have to extract it from the mushroom or manufacture it artificially. Either way, the amount of time and effort put into the process would drive the price up significantly.
I've done 12 hits of LSD and an ounce of mushrooms in one night. I tripped hard as fuck, but I came down and was completely fine. In my, somewhat expert, opinion on the subject of drugs, I think your friend did more acid than he could handle.

Bacially he couldnt remember alot of things and couldnt sleep for a couple days straight so he came out to his parents about doing drugs, they were apparently pretty pissed on the inside (From what he could tell at least) but they didnt show it since he told them about it and they didn't find out themselves (well and you dont really yell at someone whos facing brain damage), As far as i can tell hes back to normal now (of course he's always acted a bit off but thats just his personality), and he told me hes gonna quit drugs since he thought he was gonna have permanent brain damage for a second there (not like he could now that his parents know and all xD)

I'd like to add credit to that. I haven't done nearly that much acid, however I do have experience with 2CE and 2CI as well as psilocybin, cocaine once (it's really not all it's chalked up to be, I was awake more and my nose was running like I had a cold, then again, different people different reactions) and the obvious THC. Back to the original question however, too much LSD good cause a wide variety of symptoms all linked to neurological malfunctions, almost like short-circuits, but nothing like short-circuits. What's probably happening is that the chemicals present in post-metabolized LSD are blocking certain receptors in his brain we don't clearly understand yet. More specifically, it's probably blocking whatever receptors are responsible for memory retention. Best case: bis body continues to metabolize the chemicals, it breaks down naturally, or his brain adapts to the new demands placed on it. Worst car (I can imagine): the chemical substance that remains after consumption spreads across the brain possibly blocking it out, maybe even targeting functions like perspiration, lungs, ETC
