A few days ago, I bought an HP notebook.
Whenever I run a software which isn't provided by the manufacturer (ex: Adobe Photoshop, Some Games), my Notebook always freezes/hangs.
My notebook's specs:
i7 @ 1.6 GHz Processor
Windows 7 32-bit OS
500GB (7200RPM) hard drive
2 x 2GB DDR 3 RAM
nVidia GeForce GT320M with 1GB memory DDR3
I don't really care if my notebook can't run games, but I really need it to run Photoshop and other programs...
Is this problem caused by software problem, or hardware?
And, does anyone know how to solve this?

From the specs you listed it should be able to run photoshop without a problem. However your processor is a little slow. Photoshop is a resource hog. You'll want to make sure your not running any other programs in the background. Go through MSConfig and turn off any startup programs and services not necessary. Doing that will make so you don't have to go through Task Manager every time and turn off programs manually. If that doesn't help try uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop. Also check windows update and make sure your computer is fully updated. Since this is an HP product I also suggest getting rid of all the crapware that is installed from the factory. Run the Add/Removed Programs utility from the Control Panel and uninstall anything you don't need. If your unsure about a program, google it to learn about it.

Nothing wrong with the hardware. Sounds like a software (operating system) issue. Really, I would start by removing all the HP bloatware and processes that might be slowing down (or even freezing) your computer.
Then just look at how many system processes are running in the background when the computer is idel. The ideal would be below 30.

Okay... I've turned off the startup programs.
But, it doesn't seem to solve the problem;
(Yesterday, after I ran opera for about 4~5 minutes, it froze.
Another one happened when I turned it on after I put it to 'sleep' mode.
CapsLock/NumLock light doesn't light when I press them; I can't even mute it.)
I'll try boot using windows XP in my externals.
Anyway, Thanks for the replies.
EDIT: Now, I know that my notebook only freezes its display (monitor).
When I start up my notebook, it freeze on 'starting windows', but the start-up sound still working. To prove my suspicion, I press the windows button, type cmd, and type shutdown -r -t 01... and it successfully restarted. Is this a hardware defect...?
