Now, being a fan, I gave it a chance.
Here's my review of the whole thing.
Okay, track 1, Smells Like Teen Spirit covered by The Meat Puppets. Ummm, not very good. That song cannot be covered. Sorry Meat Puppets.
Track 2, In Bloom covered by Butch Walker & the Black Widows! Oh my fucking god, this is such a groovy cover. Loved it!
Track 3, Come As You Are covered by Midnight Juggernauts. Okay this song and this band are from way different worlds. But I love both of them so damn much! And Midnight Juggernauts did a pretty damn good job here. Okay, two good covers to one bad cover. Not bad so far.
Track 4, Breed covered by Titus Andronicus. Play this loud and piss off your neighbors! ;)
Track 5, Lithium covered by The Vaselines. I don't know. Bit mellow. Take it or leave it. It isn't bad, it is beautifully sung.
Track 6, Polly covered by Amanda Palmer. Same as track 5, good but a bit mellow and slow. But you may be into that so, yeah.
Track 7, Territorial Pissings covered by Surfer Blood. Just like track 4, play it loud, piss off the neighbors!
Track 8, Drain You covered by Foxy Shazam. Definitely my "guilty pleasure" track off this album. Something tells me that I shouldn't like it but I dooooo! >.<
Track 9, Lounge Act covered by Jessica Lea Mayfield. Oh, such a pretty voice! I can totally picture her singing this on a small stage while wearing a cute yellow sun dress ❤
Track 10, Stay Away covered by Charles Bradley & The Menahan Street Band. They made this song their own! They fucking owned it! 10/10 on that song! God damn!
Track 11, On A Plain covered by Telekinesis. Pretty good. Not great but good.
Track 12, Something In The Way covered by JEFF The Brotherhood. This is a dark/sad song. They did a nice job at capturing the mood. I haven't heard of some of these bands and this was one of the song I was kinda worried might get ruined. But it wasn't.
Final track! Endless Nameless covered by EMA. Distorted and erratic! Loud and grungy! Nice cover, staying true to the Grunge genre. Love her voice. That guitar and bass. This is to be played loud with track 4 and 7.
Overall a way better album than I thought it would be. Track 10 blew me away! One of the BEST Nirvana covers I have ever heard. Ever!
What you guys think of it?
