Opinions Wanted

So, story time again. Like, 3 or 4 years ago I think, my internet girl friend (not gf) told me to get some account on that website OkCupid because "lol the people there are ridiculous." Fastforward to a few days ago and for some random reason, I get an e-mail from them saying New Matches!

Now this is weird to me because it's been so long, but I look and apparently I had received some messages like some girl saying I looked like Jim from The Office and some other girl talking about e-mailing pics or something, but anyway, I decide to change my location to Tokyo just for the heck of it. Yesterday, I get another e-mail about matches, but when I looked at it, just, dang.

One of the girls reeeally caught my attention. So I checked her profile thingy and wow. Same age, same height (easier for hugging and kissing IMO), similar interests, likes to go out and drink, and also in Tokyo. But what really hit me was her picture. Just every time I looked at it was like a punch. Anyway, suffice to say I'm attracted to her. And it's been a long, long time since anyone let alone anything has made me feel something I did when I saw her pictures (there were multiple).

So before this gets too long, I sent a message a little while ago today after contemplating for about a billion years what to say because I really didn't want to fuck it up, but haven't got a response yet.

Any opinions? And to keep this thread from stalling, has anyone else ever felt something really strong after just seeing someone? I won't say "love at first sight", but it's more "I want to meet this person badly."

Just talk to her if you feel that lovey dovey feeling not in your dong. Talking is the easiest thing to do without seeing here face to face.

Well, yeah. But it's a dating website. You send a message and hope for the best. If I get no reply message, I can't really talk with her. I could send another message, but that could come off as creepy.

I wouldn't send anymore messages. You alreadly sent one so if you don't hear back in 3days-week then you will just have to move on even though that would suck (but the truth does suck so I'm sorry).

I don't think I've ever had "love at first site" rather I have had more of a "attraction at first site". I've found men attractive and have dated some in this way, but nothing ever came out of it. With my current bf, we had absolutely no attraction to each other what so ever. We were both going after different targets and became friends through common interests. It wasn't until we failed in our conquests and opened up to each other more (as friends) that we started to realize "duh this person is totally awesome for me".

Basically though talking with one another and just getting to know each other did we establish the loving feeling that we have today. I'm not saying that this is how you should tackle a realtionship, but it's just to show you that not all relationships start out with "love at first site". There is a spark that could strike, but the real love comes from spending time with a person, learning about their qwirks and faults, and what makes them who they are.

First things first don't get too desperate for a response. If she doesn't respond she either doesn't use the site or she's not interested.

Secondly here's the chance that it may be a fake account, so don't get your hopes up too much.


I've had the odd occasion where I see or speak to someone and think to myself "They seem awesome, I WANNA MEET THEM" and other times where I'm just like "This girl is sexually attractive and I want to impregnate her". But never love at first sight. My current relationship was after 6+ years of on-and-off chatting as friends, but one day after a long time not speaking to each ther, we realised we had a lot in common and she admitted she had feelings for me and had done for a while. We got together soon after. So you just never know what'll happen.

I don't believe in online love I make fun of it but if it works out for you congratulations
