Perfumes and Scents and Maybe Some Other Stuff
0
Recently, I've bought a new perfume. I can't remember my last one since I've never officially used one before. I just used deodorants and shampoo, which is find according to my friends.
Anyways, I bought this new Calvin Klein perfume. As of the moment I am trying to attract women, I put it on. A girl told me it smelled really good. But afterwards I'm done with work, someone else said it smelled bad. I just assumed the perfume did not mix well with sweat.
Suggestions on how to smell my best? preferably all day? What kind of scents girls find a turn on?

I usually just use Axe body spray in most situations, but I do have a bottle of cologne that I use when I'm going somewhere decently nice. Honestly though, the most compliments I've gotten about smelling nice are from the Musk aftershave I use after I shave.

oh, well honestly. i'd just use cheap spray ons for work. like, old spice or axe.
just to mask sweats. thats what i do at least.
then when you go out on the town looking for a girly. i'd wear the good stuff. but its also good to know that it your cologne is sweat reactant. best someone tell you that before youre on a date with a cutie.
heres my opinion.
lufa scrub your body with a strong body wash. If you can match the body wash with the shitty spray on cologne do that.
when you put on cologone Less is more. She wants to smell you when shes close up to you. (at least thats what a few of my ex's told me girl to guy advice)
old spice spray on for work
What i use is degree for men deordant Dry Normally the Ice/Everest flavor (i hate my shit being all wet) everyday
Now when it comes to picking out a cologone this is what i did. I went with something I enjoyed smelling i didn't think about the girls at all. because it's going to be on your body. you're gonna smell it ALL day yeah? and chances are if you think it smells nice. shes gonna like it and think it smells nice.
Go to a purfume shop, smell around ask for sample vials, sometimes they are free. and you can test them out and see if they work with the sweat thing or not. Keep buying the same cologne for that sentimental smell. when you find the right girl shell associate that first time smell with you and will always do from that point on.
for when im out with my fiancee i use Dior citrus scent. I live in the tropics.
so i like the Clean Fresh smells compared to the musky rough smells.
Hope that helps a bit bud. Just my opinion and some info i've collected over the years.

I guess sometimes I gotta wear perfume to please myself instead of the ladies. Which is weird since it may lead them liking it afterwards.
Maybe.
Not experienced in the whole use of smelling as something sexual

I use a combination of body spray and deoderant. Right Guard, Lynx, Supermarket brand, I don't really care what I use.
On Saturday I woke up late for my voluntary work so I didn't have time to find anything to make me smell nice - couldn't even have a quick wash, just got dressed and out the door. I worked up a sweat from all the donations coming in and my friend's sister told me I smelt like a wet dog.
Edit: On formal occasions I also wear aftershave.

Thankfully, the only ones who've said I smelled are those close to me

I was told by my best friend that the right amount of the right Axe deo spray on your body was enough to drive her nuts. In a good way that is.
I dunno, I rarely ever use this shit myself. Maybe just a little cologne for a formal event.

I hate the smell of perfumes and colognes. If you need it then you must stink. Now if you use a little flower oils or scents then i do not care. Baby powder is fine.

I feel like a man who wears cologne all the time is trying too hard or feels he really stinks (not trying to offend you OP, just my opinion from past experiences). Some colognes can upset peoples allergies (my bf tried to wear it a lot in the beginning till I told him to stop and only use it on date nights or special occasions). I would just wear a nice body spray or deodorant for most of the time and cologne on special occasions.

I'm not a huge fan of cologne, I find a lot of them are way too strong.. and as someone who can barely smell anything, if I think it's too strong, then most people around probably don't like it.
I personally find things like Axe, and other mens body sprays have a much nicer smell to them. Same goes for woman though, I don't like perfumes but I enjoy body sprays, I find them less alcoholy-perfumey smelling, and moreso subtle and sweet.

I'm over AXE. I've made the permanent correlation between it and sweaty, trying-to-hard middle school boys.
For guys, I think a nice cologne (but it doesn't have to be too "nice", shit gets expensive) every once in awhile is ideal. Hell, I have no problem with Old Spice either.
As for me, I absolutely love floral/fruity scents so I have quite a few perfume bottles/samples lying around. I like to try different ones, especially Dior and Marc Jacobs. But yeah, gotta always be careful not to wear too much. I find that a spritz on the wrists and once on the neck region is more than enough to get me through the day.

Hell, I have no problem with Old Spice either. This is actually a good line of inquiry. I know AXES markets itself as irresistible to ladies (with varying results), but how do the female species of our race react to men wearing Old Spice? I'm interested about this.
Girls (and bi/gay guys), any thoughts?

I actually perfer Old Spice over AXE. Some of the AXE products are a bit harsh to smell (they upset my allgeries and smell like cologne), though I can't remember which one's I specifically like.
Old Spice has a milder smell and they smell more like soap you use in the shower then cologne. My bf wears some that have a tropical ocean smell to them (I think it's the figi one).
I think moderation is key, more doesn't equal better. I hate when people dunk themselves in cologne or body spray I feel like my eyes, nose, and throat are on fire. Axe already has a strong smell so I might like it more if men didn't drench themselves in it.

Old Spice smells better than Axe, but make sure you do small amounts of whatever you use, too much cologne makes you reek and then people cant breathe around you, aftershave is also a good thing.
