Soooo, yeah. I had a nice long post made yesterday and decided to wait and re-download my things. I waited in vain. Long story short: I want to watch Ghost in the Shell stuff, Video is ok but kinda fast, Audio: Nonexistent.
CPU: AMD A8-3500 APU
RAM: 6GB
OS: Win7 SP1
File type: .mkv
Using CCCP and MPC-HC (pretty sure they're up to date, as there hasn't been a new release in over a year)
Specific files: Ghost in the Shell Collection from Pirate Bay, GITS SAC: Solid State Society from THORAnime irc (also in the collection)
I'd say more, but I'm tired and need sleep. And maybe a bit of fapping. Odds are I'll fall asleep before I make up my mind.

Maybe they're using a special audio that's not used by CCCP. Try downloading Gspot, and load the video inside, you'll have infos about the audio, and what's missing.

I recommend that you do a CRC check, you can use cccp's insurgent for this. It could be that you are missing a piece of the files, so try and do a hash check in what ever torrent program you're using. Also you do not need to download anything to check the video info, MPC-HC can do this just right click the video and select properties.

@doomsayer: I tried the CRC check, but don't know what it did. I also can't figure out how to do a hash check in utorrent, so... yeah.

What are the settings you have on MPC? I have everything set on system default and had no problems.

Try LAV filters to see if it works better. Also make sure your mpc-hc is the latest version. If you also have choppy subtitles try xy-vsfilter. Here's links to all. Use the 32-bit installers.

Make sure in mpc under external filters that lav splitter, audio, video, and directvobsub (auto loading) are all set to prefer.
Also disable all of the internal filters.
When a file is playing you can right-click on the video and choose filters to see what filters are currently active. click on one and you can configure it more. In Lav Video try dxva2 copy-back at the top-right of its configuration and that should help a lot. If the vids are 10-bit it will just use software as there are no hardware 10-bit decoders yet. If its a 10-bit video and playing slow that just means your processor is slow so try a version that is a lower resolution/bitrate.
If you have a decent computer you can try madvr to make it look better but this should be the bread and butter for everything. I go a bit further and use ac3filter to handle the sound channels for my 5.1 as I like how it does it.
