                        Hi
What is the best way to go about studying abroad in a country so that you make the most of it? My first thought is to go through a University such as University of Las Vegas or University of Reno. Those are the two closest in Nevada. The other idea is through some kind of company organization but I don't know if any exist for that purpose. I want to study abroad in Japan but I'm kinda clueless as to how to go about it. It's mainly for improving my fluency in Japanese but its also to learn as much as I can about the culture, food, daily life, education, customs, etc etc. Also are there any major scholarships, grants, or other financial aid I can take advantage of to ease the financial burden, basically money I don't have to pay back.
These are my only questions at this point but I might come up with more which I'll be sure to ask. At the moment I just need to know who I should go through and what ways there are that I can take advantage of to help foot the financial bill. I checked out the UNLV program but they want around 12k for a 1-year program.
Thanks
Joshua

Ignore the trolls man, fuck them.
Devry has a really good program to study abroad, specifically in Japan. I did it through them and it didn't cost me a cent.

He's potentially underage because he hasn't started college yet.
Considering he's been a member for two years, he has been underage at least a good deal of time if not the entire time.
Either way.
So you still planning to try and live in Japan like a dipshit because you like anime?
Either way. If you are wanting to go to do a study abroad in Japan, then you should think about which field of study you're doing it in.
Because that will determine what offers you have available.
And if you say you want your major to be something like Japanese I am going to come through the computer and bitchslap you.

i hate to burst your bubble if you not a troll but you have a better chance of getting in to yale than transfering to a japanese college unless you have something they need or want a animation tech card. i know since i live in japan but if you want go to japan here some shit you need to know
1. money since tokyo is expensive(unless you already got a job line up, i teach english to preps in a study school)
2. place to live.
3. speakth the language.
4. student visa or work visa or all two. can't even go more than three weeks with out it/ passport.
5. finding said job since you don't speak or read japanese, japanese don't hire gaijin unless their business need a english speaker for it, and since you can't speakth japanese your screwed.
so your fucked unless your rich, or speak japanese fluently and got a work/student visa and already got a job and a place to live.

From what little time I spent Googling it, it seems that a Japanese Public University is roughly 6-7k USD a year.
Also for college, don't go to a school because of the name, in local area there are 7 different schools that are within an hour and a half driving distance from where I live. Varying in price, some of them big names such as the University of Kentucky,
It's best to do research on what you want to do and find a school that has a great department for that, subject matter.
Also to all the he's not gone to college yet so he's underage Bullshit. I'm 26 years old and I'm just now going to college, I have a neighbor that is 43 and just last year started going to school himself. Think before you post.
