Recent Purchases and Good Finds Thread

Fakku is at Kawaii Kon and I was able to walk around today with my fiance. We picked up quite a few things.



The Saber's are on canvas and the Totoro is vinyl. Our Evangelion posters are pretty sweet and we managed to get the last print of the Shinji (the display) in order to get the set of 3.

My Hero Academia vol 1 and 2 (it finally came out there)
Princess resurrection vol 17
Kiss My Ass vol 1 (yeah, this somehow got licensed)
Miss 130 (not really a manga but the author is japanese, also it's the latest book, there's another but I'll have to ask owners to see if there is any differences)
And another book I believe I shouldn't own yet but got nonetheless, I can only say it features LINDA.

I've been trying to find these 2 particular doujins since I've been here in Japan for over a year now, but I finally found them! So happy that I was able to find 2 of my favorite doujins in hard-copy before I leave Japan.

Found some volumes of Futari Ecchi (Step up Love Story) on a rather decent price and ordered them, volumes 26 to 30.
This fills up a hole my collection and I will have the complete serie up to vol 31
I'll need vol 32 up to 38, and volume 40.

And Volume 40's acquisition may be impossible because the prices are complete BULLSHIT! 200€ or 800€ on Amazon? Seriously?! The cheapest price I found is around 55€.
This is why we can't have nice things.

i found an underground comic store in my home town while visiting family. I lived there 18 years and never even saw it. I must have walked past the stairs literally thousands of times, but theres no sign or anything

I bought some bandoliers for my M1 Garand at a good price.

Got me Citrus vol.2 and Prison School vol.8, also received other volumes of Futari Ecchi to fill up the holes in my collection.
Currently waiting two books from the mail: Futari Ecchi vol.29 and a book I don't know the original title of so I'll post the covers of the two book.


It's a pretty weird one because it's in the ecchi/hentai class despite being from Korea. This caught my attention so I decided to get it to see how it goes.

Recent orders include Misshitsu by Beauty Hair, the last four volumes of Love Junkies season 2, two Saigado series and a volume of Monster collection I found for a cheap price.

Bought myself a 55' 4k samsung smart tv today. Pretty bitchin, now I'm ready for Sony to release that PS4k.

Tsundere maid was lost in the mail. ..not sure if the guy will replace or not. I haz backlog of shit to post soooooo after my fucking best buy rage cools down from 20 pints of alè I'll post deadpool exclusive non steelbook.

Well it brought up some nice points, but if the ps4k is doomed, so is the nx assuming it has 4k capabilities.

Lol, there's no gpus on the market that can run 4K at 60fps with max settings on new releases. I don't think the new 1080 card will be capable of that either. So enjoy that sweet upscaled 1080p.

I also know that win7 have issues scaling fonts in 4K making it really hard to see small fonts.

Honestly-it's more trouble than it's worth with 4K atm. I think it will become the next standard and the goal manufacturer will try to reach, but we aren't there yet.

Well fuck my ass, why the hell have I been hearing all this talk that 4k is the new standard for television and computers?

4k for now is reserved for pcmasterrace with 980ti or two, depending on game.
TV? Marketing crap, it will be years before it will be the standard, definitely not with just blurays.
Consoles? Few decades at current pace.

As I said, it's more like the new goal. GPUs are pushing to be able to maintain stable 4K 60fps. And TVs are just trying to sound more premium.

Buying 4K early isn't a complete mistake, soon enough the tech will catch up to it. For now, you can enjoy your 2160p porn



Even 980ti SLI struggles to maintain 60fps.

Heck even bluray releases only supports 1080p. Wouldn't be surpised if most HD tv channels are limited to 720p as well.

I seen the doom demo with gtx-1080 at 200fps. 8k at 60pfs max stated. I can see 4k at 60fps soon.

Have to upgrade to the gtx-1080 after the price drop
