Is it possible? I'm using a Windows 7 Starter Pack, btw.

Not really sure what you're asking bud...
Are you trying to get the comp to go into hibernation instead of shutting down?

In a nutshell, yes.

Start, control panel, hardware and sound, power options, choose what power button does.

Assuming your trying to get your power button to hibernate instead of shutdown...

1st:In the start menu search bar type "Power Options"
you'll see 5 or so options ("change what the power buttons do", "change what
closing the lid does", etc.) From there, you just have to change what it is you
want to do.

P.S.
I'm guessing you have a netbook right?

Edit:

That'd work too

Oh, not the power Button. I meant that when you press Shutdown, it automatically Hibernates instead.

Computer, actually. And yeah, that's a helpful tip!

But what i'm really looking for is when you press Start -> Shutdown, it Hibernates instead.

Oh.....
Then type in the search bar "Taskbar and Start Menu" and press enter
Click on the "start menu" tab,
And change the "power button action" to hibernate.

That will change the shutdown button into a hibernate button

When you press it, it Hibernates instead of shutting down. Is it possible?

It probably is possible, but you'd probably have to delve deep into the files of the comp to change what that
button actually means, but that's a little over my head unfortunately.

Well, if changing the function is too much, then at least just switching the names. So when you press "Shutdown", you're actually pressing "Hibernate", and vice versa.

This is a desktop right.. doesn't matter. Press the physical power button once and it goes to hibernation mode.. more of a hybid mode. You can try this http://www.carolsvault.com/put-hibernate-shortcut-on-your-desktop/

You would probably do it in the same place, the registries. But which registry file, where it is, and how to find it, I've not slightest clue. Try googling "shutdown hibernate registries". But FYI: Don't fuck with them unless you absolutely know what you're doing!
