ROBOCOP

As much i love the classic one, i kinda looking forward to this. Who knows, this movie will end up like Dredd. My only complaint about this movie is... WHY THE FUCK DID THEY CHANGE HIS ARMOUR COLOR TO BLACK!??!?! HE LOOKS MENACING LOOKING IN HIS CLASSIC SILVER LOOK!!!

The only parts that really make me mad are the fact he doesn't actually die, only crippled, and that he remembers everything from before the explosion. His wife, his kids, his life before. That was a big part of Robocop.
Also, there better be some reference to "I'd buy that for a dollar!" or the movie is bust.

I've seen the originals and I like them. This new RoboCop, different but still pretty badass. "DEAD OR ALIVE, YOU'RE COMING WITH ME." Badass.

So his armour's black now. Good. I like minor improvements to characters from long-dead series. The silver colouring really bugged me about the original Robocop.
My first thought when he became Robocop was "how will he bang his wife now that he's encased in metal?"
Emphasis on was a big part of Robocop. This isn't the old Robocop series, it's a film reboot. They obviously want to take it in another direction by changing the story from the guy dying and coming back to life when turned into a machine and regaining lost memories overtime, to having him crippled with memories intact. The focus shifts from regaining his memories to how he's still human despite becoming a cyborg and being controlled by the higherups.

I'm seriously doubting that this will be anywhere near as resonant or stylish as Verhoeven's. Toned down violence, completely different angle on the human and corporate elements of the story, all shiny and CGI.
Seems as charmless as the Total Recall reboot. I hope I'm wrong.

My all time favorite classic movie, what have they done to it?!
Even though this is a reboot, they have still taken out a lot of things that made the original memorable. One is the design on his suit... he looks like a cross between Renzer from Tron: Legacy if he walked into Nolan's Batman movie trilogy.
And the way he delivers the most well known catchphrase, out of the entire movie, at the end is sad. It has no feeling in it.

I knew hollywood would somehow fuck this movie up..I mean black? Come On, he looked pretty badass in the silver. That and him being able to remove the mask? what the hell was that?
It better live up to Dredd standards or it's gonna be another failed hollywood reboot.

That's one of my other major concerns with this reboot. In the original he had his limbs blown off and was killed, but here, he's injured by a car bomb? A fucking car bomb?! That's one of the most generic deaths used in a lot of action movies.
Also, PG-13? You're fucking kidding me? This is how you reboot the classic? By toning it down to a children's rating? The original was rated R and for good reason... it kicked major ass.

Even if a movie is rated R, kids will watch it anyways.
They haven't thought of this, I guess.
