He may love you back, but I can only imagine him having a little trouble as well. This is the problem with a lot of long-distance relationships. If the distance is too great, you won't be able to meet with each other personally on a regular basis, and that connection is sort of a must in relationships. Plus, you're already showing the other problem: in the time you're away from him and don't think about him, you're already meeting and starting to be attracted to more people; people you find a lot more interesting, seems to me.

Honestly, I had a friend go through this similar thing, and really, the best you can do now is talk to your "boyfriend" yourself, ask him about his feelings, then talk it out. You'll both either be reassured in the other's faith, or you'll realize that it may not work out while the distance is present, and move on to other people. If it does come to the latter, don't be discouraged at all. I know some people get sick of being told "there are more fish in the sea", but the fact is, it's quite a true statement. There's more than 7 billion people in the world, and you're bound to find a connection with a lot of them. Hell, with what you have with your "friend" right now, you may not have to stay depressed and single for too long. Either way, just follow what I said, and... hope for the best, whatever that may be.

You really answered your own question. You have nothing but good things to say about this new guy, while only negatives about your boyfriend. Relationships grow stale sometimes, especially when it comes to long-distance. But it seems to me that, in your own head, you've already made a decision and just want reinforcement that you're making the right choice.

Nobody can tell you what would be best. You have to decide that for yourself, because no two relationships are the same. Doubly so when it comes to different people. What I might do in the situation would vary from stranger a and stranger b, etc etc. Now, -my- personal opinion? If you stay with your boyfriend, you'll be giving up on something new that already excites and interests you. Yes, there is the possibility that seeing your boyfriend in person will help things, but if it doesn't work out there isn't a guarantee that your new guy will still be around. Also, you might find yourself thinking a few months from now (if you two were still together) "What would have happened if I gave up this guy for something new? Maybe I'd be happier?".

I know that's kind of a non-answer, but that's the best I can give.

Open up to both of them, see where both of them stand. Try to get an image of what life would be like, with both of them. Then, follow your heart.

It's not your fault that your relationship is going stale. It happens. I also agree with what Art said, you should talk to your boyfriend first, and give some more time to think about who you'd be happier with in the long-run. Don't forget to consider your boyfriend's feelings as well.

If you find yourself romantically involved with your other friend, I suggest you break it off with your boyfriend. I've went down that path before, and trust me, it did not end well. But it did "get the job done" (break my relationship). In a horrible way, of course.

I hope YOU at least broke it off with boyfriend BEFORE going for the friend. Another thing I wanted to mention as well is, do NOT do what Scott Pilgrim did. If you don't get what I'm trying to say, basically, don't go after another person you're romantically interested BEFORE completely breaking it off with the person you're already in a relationship with.

After talking it through with your boyfriend, chi, choose one. When you made the decision, break it off with the other. It may sound harsh, but trust me, you don't want a love triangle in your hands. It's too much of a hassle for what it's worth.

Ummm... dude? The "online guy" who's "typing sweet nothings" is the long-distance "boyfriend" with whom her relationship as apparently gone stale. The "funny, and easy to talk to" guy is the "friend" that she can see physically. Read the last paragraph carefully before spouting derp comments like that. Sigh... if so, that's not really dating. Yes, it can be intimate as all get-out, but in the end it lacks that element of reality. Unless you met irl or something?

Consider how likely it is that this boyfriend a) will ever want a "real" bf/gf relationship with you, b) is being as loyal to you as you are to he?, and c) that you want to keep such a relationship going if you're going to feel torn.
Is the guy you are "dating" currently your age, your area, or even someone you want to hold out for?

I don't like to judge love that's based in only words, but sometimes love confessed in text needs reinforcing in person.
