Skype issues

So I'll just cut straight to the point, hopefully someone has a gist of what to do.
So I recently got a new phone (a galaxy s III) and its been working wonderfully. However I've been having a consistent problem with skype on it. When it dies decidde to work, its fast and borderline perfect. But when it decides to be faulty, i get a list of issues with it. Sometimes. My contacts will partially load or not at all, my previous chat logs won't load, contacts will look and act as if I never added them, or it just won't sign me in at all.
I'm fairly certain this doesn't have to do with the phone and is likely the software, so is anyone aware of any apps or programs i could download onto the phone ti make Skype stable? I've noticed that Skype seems to dislike droid phones...
If anyone can assist, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Try to re-install it, either that or it must be a script problem with Skype. My friend has a android phone and Skype works for him. If it still doesn't work, then ask at their support network.

I did ask their support network but ive yet to get a reply.
I have noticed that its more stable when I'm on a decent wifi connection rather than my mobile connection.
On top of that, when there is no wifi present, just leaving the wifi function on seems to let it work.
Its a little inconsistent, but its tolerable. I haven't had any outstanding issues since then, but I'm sure it won't be the last i hear of it.

I get that problem sometimes when using Skype on my iPod, so I'm guessing it's a software problem. Not sure though..
